I was just returning to my bed after borrowing a new battery for my night-light, hi there my name is Marcus and I'm 19 years old , if you're wondering what do I mean of "borrowing" , you see I'm a Borrower , five inch human-like creature that lives in the walls of a human house . The job of a borrower is simple , we wait till the humans leave or sleep and "borrow" anything we need to survive like crumbs of food , we only take things the humans or as we call them beans don't need anymore or wouldn't care if it's gone .
I have black hair and blue eyes. I wear an old doll white shirt I borrowed once that's comes with a brown jacket and some pants I sewed myself with some old fabric from some human's pants that they don't need anymore. I always carry with me my borrowing bag ,which contains enough space for me to gather food , and my hook and the rope I use for climbing.
I actually used to live with my parents in a old house that was owned by an old man ,I don't remember how old is he since I was really young at the time ,anyway one night my parents went out borrowing and said that it might take 2 days ,but after a week they didn't come back and I thought they left me . I was 10 so I didn't know what to do besides move away.
I've been to 3 houses so far but never choose to stay. why you might ask , you see I'm missing my left leg and by missing I mean I lost it when I was trapped in a mouse trap when I was 12,I lost it at the first house and had replaced it with leg wooden slump I made myself with some wood I found once. Every time I try to settle down in walls my leg slump always ends up making some noise or almost gets stuck in something which makes it harder to borrow ,like that time I was borrowing some stuff from the kitchen and I almost got my stump stuck in a hole in the cupboard .
Right now I'm in my forth and hopefully final house , this house is owned by a family of 3, the parents and their 18 year old daughter.I don't know much about them since the parents are usually outside and that the girl stays in her room half the time.
After my first 3 days I managed to make myself a makeshift room and used some empty candle box to store my food for later .
It's been a month and so far I haven't had any problems in borrowing so I might consider staying,well at least till winter passes.
Right now I'm going to sleep in my bed I made of an old sock and some cotton balls. And try to figure out what to do tomorrow.
