Reconnect (Izaya Orihara x reader)

It had been nearly a month since you and Izaya made up, but there was still one question lingering in your mind.

How exactly did Izaya feel about you? Does he only see you as a friend or more?

The anticipation was eating you up inside for the last month wondering.

"Hey, Y/n can you give me that file?" Namie asks.

"Huh? Oh yeah, here you go." You say handing her the file in your hand.

"Is something on your mind?" Namie asks.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about."

"Fine don't tell me, but whatever is on your mind is distracting you, so I think it's best if you get out to clear your mind," Namie says as she drags you out the door.

'Huh? Did she just kick me out?'

You were now walking around the streets of Ikebukuro, hoping to clear your mind.

"Look it's Y/n," You hear. 

You turn around to see your friend Erika. You two became friends shortly after you bumped into her and your old friend Kyohei Kadota on the street a few days after you moved back.

"Erika, good to see you again. Are you out by yourself?" You ask.

"Yeah, the others didn't want to come with and it's nice being by myself for a bit," Erika says.

You nod your head understanding.

"What about you Y/n, what are you doing out here?"

"Oh I got kicked out, and I guess I do need to clear my mind,"

"Thinking about Iza-chan~?" 

"Huh? N-no! I don't know what you mean." You say getting flustered.

"Clearly you do. Want to talk about it?" Erika asks.

You two decided to go to a cafe and you had told Erika what was on your mind.

"Iza-chan really is mean, I mean any normal person would have given an answer straight away to a confession," Erika says.

"I know right, but considering it's Izaya, what else could I expect?" You say.

"True but still if he's not going to say anything then it kinda makes me think that he's thinking of a way to respond or...that he actually might be in love with someone else, like Shizu-chan!"

"Erika...you know I love talking about BL with you, but when it comes to your ship about Izaya and Shizuo, I can never agree with you on that, and frankly it's hard to picture."

"Oh come on, they're so good together!"

You laugh at that.

"Yay, you're smiling. I got so worried when I saw that serious expression on your face."

"Thanks, Erika, and I'm sorry for worrying you, but this really helped me clear up my mind. I think I'll just be patient for now and forget about it. After all, I'm content with how things are between me and Izaya." You say.

"I'm glad. Also seriously what's with Shizuo and Izaya? Are they a thing? Are you keeping it from me?"

"Oh my God Erika stop."

It was night and you had just arrived back at Izaya's penthouse. You spent the whole day away with Erika, talking, shopping, and walking in the park. You even had the chance to meet one of Erika's new friends.

"My it sure took you a while to get back. Where you off having fun?" Izaya asks as you enter the room.

"Yeah, I was with Erika,"

"Oh, surprise you can deal with her considering how quirky she is," Izaya says.

"Well, considering I've dealt with you from ages five to seventeen, I think I'm more than capable of being able to handle her quirkiness."

"Ow, how you pain me."

"Hm, yeah well it also helps that we both have more in common." You say.

"Ah yes, your anime and boy-on-boy love."

"Oh shut up. Anyway did Namie leave already?"

"Yep. You're not going to ask about my day?" 

"How could I forget. How was your day Izaya?"

"The same old, causing up trouble as always."

"And that's a good thing?" You ask as you go sit on the couch and turn on the tv.

"Oh don't be like that. Anyway, jokes aside I was actually thinking about something, that I've wanted to talk to you about."

"Oh really, you can tell me anything." You say lowering the volume of the TV.

"Y/n, you remember how you confessed to me?" Izaya says he gets closer towards you.

"Huh?" You ask getting flustered.

"I've been thinking how to respond."

"T-there's no need for that really. I'm fine not knowing your feelings really especially if you're just going to reject me."

Izaya keeps getting closer till you were pinned on the couch under him.

"I don't care if you don't want to know. I need to tell you."

Your heart was racing. You wanted to know what he might say but at the same time, you didn't want to know. You were scared his next words could change everything about your relationship with him.

"Y/n before I tell you. I wanna ask, what happened between you and Shizu-chan, weren't you two going out? Izaya ask.

Huh?

You burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?"

"Haha...me and Shizuo were never a thing." You say as you continue to laugh.

"Huh? You serious, but didn't he confess to you on the roof back in high school?"

"You were there?"

"By accident but then I left because I couldn't stand hearing Shizuo confessing."

"Well if you had stayed you would have known I rejected Shizuo. I told him that I didn't see him in that way because I'm in love with you." You looked away in embarrassment.

You noticed Izaya was being silent so you decided to look up and saw that he was a bit flustered himself.

"Izaya? Are you okay?" You asked kinda worried.

"No just hearing that made me happy. I want to tell you that recently I've been thinking that I love humans and I've always thought I wanted them to love me, but instead they hate me and love Shizu-chan for some reason."

"That's why when I saw you so happy to see Shizuo I thought it was because you two were going out and I found myself feeling jealous."

You were surprised by all of what Izaya was saying, but you made sure to listen carefully.

"I've been thinking it's because I probably wouldn't mind loving one human more than the others."

"Huh? W-what do you mean Izaya?"

"What I mean is...I love you Y/n,"
