Over the next two weeks Petal learned all she could about the shop and how Hoseok ran things. She had become fond of calling him Hobi and now and then would tease him by calling him Hobaby, she found it hilarious- Hoseok on the other hand would blush and immediately find something to do that wasn't near her. He had finally gotten comfortable with taking the weekends off though and letting Petal be in the shop till 5pm. He urged her to lock the doors at 5pm and clean up. Even though his flower shop hadn't been robbed and this part of the city was always quiet- You could never be too safe. She made this promise to him and she kept it. Her first night alone, as soon as it turned 5pm she locked the doors, closed the blinds and turned off the primary lights. She counted the cash, marked it in Hoseok's book, and tucked it into the envelope she'd been given. She then opened the hidden safe in the bottom cabinet and put the money in there. She closed the safe door and spun the combination dial a bit.
Petal was quite proud of herself. She put on some soft music, watered the flowers who needed it, cleaned up the shop, then turned off the rest of the lights that needed to go off and headed upstairs to the apartment. Hoseok had left her a key to get in and when she entered her bright smile faded as she remembered Hobi wouldn't be waiting for her. It was his first night not at home, he had gone out earlier- deciding to go to dinner and then dancing alone. He told her he might not be home till late and encouraged her to make herself at home. She'd been sleeping in his bedroom while he'd been sleeping on the couch in his small living space/kitchen.
Petal sighed deeply and smiled, skipping lightly to go take a shower. While across town, Hoseok was actually managing to have a decent evening. Hoseok had dinner alone and after that he was going to go to the movies but decided against it, seeing a movie alone didn't suit him. He rather see it with someone else, so he wandered around the city till he decided on a night club. A few drinks at Club Silk and Hoseok was on the dance floor among the crowd of people. He danced like he hadn't in a long time- which was true, he hadn't danced aside from the slight waltz he did with Petal.... Petal.
She came to his mind but the alcohol and bodies of two women moving against him quickly made it fade away. He had drank too much by midnight, it became clear when he was seated in a booth in the VIP section with the two women he'd been dancing with most of the night. The two women hunched over to the little table made of glass, a man with another woman laid out a white powdery substance... two lines, they were about to lay out another but Hoseok had enough sense in him to shake his head and say no thanks to the stuff that was clearly a certain drug. Hoseok wasn't about that.. but alcohol was a different drug to him. At some point in the next hour he found himself back out on the streets of the city, he pulled his phone out and called for a cab. It was 2am by the time he crawled- quite literally crawled up the stairs to his apartment."Pet... pet.. el.. Pelat! No.. wait.. Petal!" He hollered out. Petal awoke with sleepy eyes. She was in one of Hoseok's longer t-shirts. She opened his bedroom door to see him in the entrance between the kitchen space and the living room where his couch was. He was on all fours, his pants hanging lower than they were suppose to, most likely from his weird crawling. His jacket was hanging off his shoulders and shirt was slightly torn around the collar. He had lipstick marks on his cheeks and neck. Petal sighed and walked over toward him.
"Pet!" He cheered as he collapsed and rolled on his back.
"Hobi..." Petal looked down at him and sighed deeply. "Silly boy, drunk as a... as a... I don't know the saying. But you're clearly drunk." She pouted and crouched down beside him.
"Pet... my little flower pet. You look... is that my shirt?" He asked with a slur in his words. Petal shook her head and tried not to giggle at how cute yet funny he looked and sounded.
