The city streets were bustling as usual, the sweet smell of spring in the air. Children and families swarmed the parks to play and enjoy picnics together. Pets and their owners playing around the dog parks. Light jackets were the first sign of the seasons change. With all this nice weather is was no wonder that a certain little flower shop was suddenly graced with it's first customers.

The newly reopened shop was now under the care of the previous owners grandson. He hurried around making sure everything was in order all morning, now that the sign had been flipped to open he was waiting patiently behind the counter.

His fingers fidgeted with a pen that rested on the soft blue granite counter top, his smile didn't waver once as he stood there. He was nervous, he would be a fool not to be. He didn't know what was going to happen, how many customers he'd get to greet. He didn't know any of that, he only knew that this was his true calling in life and finally he was able to make his dream come true.

The bell dinged as the shop door opened, the first customer was an older woman who was slightly familiar to him. She had her hair done up in a neat bun, a light jacket on with her sleeves rolled up. Her eyes scanned the shop and she paused a moment as her eyes met his. He smiled just a little brighter and waved to her.

"Good morning! How may I help you today?" He asked with a bright white smile, his skin honey toned. The older woman smiled back at him and looked slightly surprised to see him.

"Ah, she finally sold you this place hm? I told her she should." The woman said as she walked to the front out counter. He smiled and nodded proudly. "You always did like this place when you were young. Always running around here smelling the flowers." She smiled as she recalled the cute moments in her memories.

"She loved this place too, I think that's why I was the one she wanted to sell it to. I just hope that I can keep the reputation of this place high, Mrs. Choi was an amazing woman and florist." He recalled his memories of her with a warm heart. The older woman nodded.

"So what can I get you today Mrs. Jeon?"He asked her. She grinned and nodded as he said her name, she knew he must remember her.

"I'm glad you didn't forget me... Mr. Jung is it now?" She teased. He laughed and nodded.

"You can always call me Hoseok, or as Mrs. Choi liked to call me- Hobi." He chuckled and the woman laughed along.

"Ah yes. Well, Hobi dear. I need a spring bouquet as soon as possible, nothing overly fancy it's for a friend. She just got out of her doctors appointment this morning, apparently she's cancer free after her surgery so we're celebrating." She smiled and he nodded.

"Of course. Would you like a balloon with it?" He asked.

"Do you have one that says 'Yay, you beat cancer?'" She asked teasingly. He shook his head, slightly disappointed.

"Don't worry dear, a nice spring bouquet is what she needs. They're her favorite, all those pretty colors." She replied. Hoseok nodded and smiled as he got right to work, pulling out spring season flowers of various colors. He wanted it to be bright and beautiful, he wanted it to stand out. He cut the ends and put them in a cute small purple jar with some water so they'd stay fresh.

"Will this be alright?" He asked as he showed her his creation. She smiled brightly and nodded.

"Oh, Hoseok dear, this is beautiful. Sure to cheer her up, how much dear?" She asked as she put her purse on the counter and pulled out her wallet. Hoseok smiled and rang her up. The day went by a little slower as evening came around.

"Excuse me, I need like... two... no, no, five... five dozen roses. Is that possible?" The gentleman who rushing into the shop that evening asked in a hurry. Worry streamed across his face and made his forehead wrinkle.

"Of course Sir. What kind of roses? White? Red? We have Yellow and a special gold dusted white rose available" Hoseok replied with his genuine sunny smile.

"Red... red. I need them asap. Can you do that?" The man urged the question on. Clearly impatient.

"Of course Sir, one moment." Hoseok retreated from behind the counter and went into the cooler container where the majority of flowers were kept. Hoseok hurried, pulling out the first 12 roses and making sure they were tied together with a pretty pearl ribbon. He pulled out another 12 and did the same with a pink ribbon, then another 12 with a red ribbon, then he repeated with another 12 and another pearl ribbon, and the last 12 he tied together with a hot pink ribbon and then he took them up front and wrapped them in a lovely pink and red wrapping with another pearly colored ribbon which he tied into a nice neat bow.
The man looked on, seemingly pleased with the dressing of the roses but he kept looking at his watch. Hoseok took the mans credit card when he offered it over to pay. After he handed the man his receipt and card the gentleman rushed out. Hoseok sighed, and as the evening went on he found solice among his flowers.

"Marigolds, we're looking lovely this evening." He smiled as he dusted them in a light spray of water as he walked along. "Ah, my little lilies, you look great tonight." Hoseok happily made his rounds, complimenting the flowers as he misted them. Closing time came and once more Hoseok made his rounds, this time to tuck each flower into their safe temperature controlled home for the night. Once he was done, he counted his earnings and put the money onto a green bag that he then took and put into the safe located in the little office to the side.
Hoseok closed the safe and finished tidying up for the night. Once everything was wiped down, put away, swept and mopped... Hoseok locked up and headed out the back corridor which held the staircase up to the apartment above the little flower shop. He went up the steps and once at his apartment door he unlocked it and went inside. He lived alone, well, alone with some plant friends that he was rather fond of. Hoseok make himself some ramen and sat down on his small love seat which he insisted was just a smaller sofa. He turned on his tv and looked for something to watch on Netflix.

After his dinner he washed up, put on his pajamas and called it a night. Hoseok said a goodnight to his plants before climbing into his bed and drifting off to slumber, hopes of a better day tomorrow.
