"You're not happy?" She asked me suddenly.
"I wouldn't say that.. I think I'm perfectly happy." I replied.
"Hmm..." She hummed as though she didn't believe me. Her eyes gazed into mine like she could see right into me.
"What?" I asked. She walked closer, the tight material that hugged her body was distracting. I hadn't noticed till now that the petal she wore was gone, nothing but this thin material covered her... which I was glad it had. I felt like if she was completely bare I'd have passed out.
"You don't look happy. Not really happy anyway." She mused as she swayed her hips my way, she stopped right in front of me, her eyes still looking into mine. She had a soft smile as she got up on her toes for a moment, she giggled and tossed her arms over my shoulders."We should dance, put on some music and dance. The flowers want that."She added with a cute grin. I didn't know if I should take her seriously but I also didn't have a reason not to do as she asked. I went over to the radio behind the front counter and put on some light music, nothing too crazy. I always though more ballad like music was the type flowers wanted to listen to. Petal seemed to like it as she swayed... I kind of wish she had better clothing.. actual clothing on.
"Wait. Let me see if I have something you can wear." I said to her as I dashed upstairs and looked for some clothes. I found a tank top that might fit her, as for bottoms.. I only had some draw string pants. It would have to do, I hurried back down and handed them over to her.
"Here, these should work for now." She took them from me as I spoke and looked at me with a slight smile.
"So these would be better to wear than this?" She asked as she motioned to the skin tight... thing that she was wearing.
"Yes. If you're going to help in the shop you'll need better clothes. I should take you shopping later to get you some things. For now just go into the bathroom just there and change into those. Then I'll show you how I run the shop." I informed her. She nodded and skipped over to the bathroom in the shop and closed the door behind her, I walked over to the front counter and leaned against it, waiting for her. When she emerged she looked a little better, thankfully her hair was covering a bit of skin showing on her sides. It didn't dawn on me that a mens tank top would do nothing to cover or provide support for her... well her chest.
I did my best to not sneak a peak now and then but when she walked by me it was difficult.
"This is comfy. I like this." She said with a smile as she did a little turn. The pants were baggy on her but thankfully they stayed up with the help of the draw string. The tank top hugged her chest but there was maybe a little too much side showing.
"Alright, let's get started." I said.
"We're not going to dance?" She asked, a hopeful look on her face.
"Oh, right. Okay. One song though, there's a lot to go over." I said as I turned the radio up a little, the music filled the shop.
"This is a good song." She hummed along as she swayed her way over to me. I swayed along with her, once again she hung her arms over my shoulders. I smiled at her infectious giggle as she moved, soon I had my hands on her waist and I was moving along with her. I decided to move one hand from her waist and I held her hand with it. I grinned and led her around the room in a spin. She giggled more as we moved along the shop.
"Dancing isn't just swaying." I chuckled at her as she tilted her head back as we spun around and move forward.
"This is so much more fun!" She laughed, her laugh was melodic but soft. I couldn't help but laugh along with her. We slowed as the song came to an end, stopping in front of the tulips.
"They liked it." She giggled.
"They did?" I asked, looking over at the tulips in curiosity.
"Mhm. They're all quite happy to see you happy and smiling." She giggled. Why was she so sweet? I shrugged and took a step back.
"Well I did have a great dance partner so.. maybe it was more you than me." I responded. She shook her head and stepped closer, she placed a quick soft kiss on my cheek and giggled again.
"That was from the flowers, now teach me how to work this weird metal box that captures things. The old man had one." Petal took my hand and led me over to the cash register. It was strange, her touch felt soft and smooth.. like the petals of a flower. She gave off the scent of flowers when she moved.. I don't know why I was noticing all this now, but it was intriguing.
"Okay, this machine hold money... when people pay with cash anyway. For those who pay over the phone or with cards-"
"Oh! A card swipe thingy. Yeah, the old man had one of these. You slide the card like... this, no, this way and then it makes invisible money appear on the screen... oh, but you don't have a screen?" She knew a little, but the old register I had confused her.
"Yeah.. uh.. I haven't exactly updated much, but the money shows up here and on my phone here... I can see the money that gets deposited." I tried to explain, she smiled and nodded but I wasn't exactly sure she understood how it worked though.
"Okay so you press the buttons here right?" She asked as she traced her finger along the keys.
"Well.. you see when someone brings up flowers, you push this button- then you enter the price. I have a sheet here that tells you the pricing. So you look at this and enter the number here, just like this." I explained as I showed her. "Then you hit this button, it means pay. The person will either hand you the money or will take out their credit card. If they use credit card you have to come to this little machine and punch in the total, then scan their card or have them swipe it."
After showing her how I do things, she gave me some tips on when to water the flowers- apparently some flowers were thirsty half way through the day and needed more water, while others were fine and didn't all the extra water. We locked up and headed to the thrift store, I didn't exactly have the money to go buying this woman designer items, but she seemed more than happy with a few two dollar shirts, three dollar pants, and some cheap under garments."So you're here to just.. make my life more simple? Or easy?" I asked again as we walked back to the shop after shopping.
"Pretty much. I just have to make sure you're happy and doing well. Or something like that. Your flowers say you don't smile much and even to them you're unhappy. So I have to fix that. Which means more dancing like earlier- because you were very smiley during that, and I'm going to help with the shop so you can relax and have time to yourself! Maybe find the love of your life, or get a puppy!" She cheered and skipped ahead of me a bit, all her cute over reactions had me laughing.
"Well, if you keep being silly like that. Then I might be smiling more. I didn't know flower sprites existed, but even if I did I wouldn't think they'd be as goofy as you." I compliment and booped her nose as I walked passed her. She giggled and hopped back in step beside me. Maybe I could get some rest, maybe I could find love... heck, maybe I should get a puppy...
Maybe.
