Esther glared at the boy sitting across from her.

The boy smiled and her glare deepened.

"Stop staring at me," Esther spat.

The boy stuck his tongue out and Esther moved towards the window.

She looked out the window and let out a sigh. She was on her way to her grandparents' house in the country.

When the train came to her stop, she got off and looked around with a frown.

A woman in a horse and carriage came up to her.

Esther silently climbed in next to the woman and watched the sights as they went past.

At the house, which was beyond anything she'd been able to comprehend, the woman, who she'd found out was Mrs. Macready, told her not to disturb the professor, amongst other things.

Once the housekeeper left, Esther strolled through the house and came upon a room.

The girl opened the door and stared at the sheet-covered piece of furniture.

Little did she know what laid inside the wardrobe, or who would open the door to the magical world.
