Chapter 16- Dead or alive

Running over to the lifeless corpse i realized she wasn't as dead as i thought. She had a few bee stings that knocked her out. That was my doing. I should have warned her. Pulling her up i placed her in a shrub bed area hiding her body. She would be awake soon and i would have to get the medicine to her before she was gone for good. I shivered at the word. Leaving katniss i went out to the cornucopia. I whispered a quick condolence just in case i hadn't made it. Then running off into the death zone again.

Quickly i looked around to see if anyone was guarding the supply. The guy tribute from 8. He would have to show me mercy i saved his life in fact everyone else's. Not over-thinking the action i ran straight into the cornucopia. Avoiding the traps i began to climb up grabbing a heavy backpack i hoist myself down. Running back to the woods my small frame was slammed into the figure from 8. "Where are you going?" He snickered. Pulling out his pocket knife he began cackling. "Well isnt this funny" i began laughing trying my best to sound evil. "If i remember i saved your life before the games even started, and now your going to risk mine?" I chanted further. A look of guilt crossed his face but he replaced it with a shrug. "Whats that got to do with me?" He asked. "Very well then" i say withdrawing my knife. "Fine just this once in favor of your life" he said. I hated the way he used the word so carelessly. Getting up i run back with the heavy backpack guarding it as if it was the world.

I found the tracker jacker serum (later finding out that they weren't bees but far worse.)Injecting it into Katniss i patiently waited for her to get up. Meanwhile i thought about my death and how i was going to fake it. Would i see the attacker and then know? Or should i leave it to fate? Confused i threw my head back. There were so many questions but no answers. Maybe i wasn't supposed to know until it happened. Interrupted by Katniss's awaking i stopped thought. "You blacked out" i tell her. "I gave you a serum". "Thanks" she said getting up. "Ill take it from here". Nodding at the suggestion i sat down.

We had formed campfire and katniss shot a bird. I ate slowly at my Barely piece of meat. "You want?" She said handing me her piece distastefully. I nodded. Chewing on the horrible-yet filling meat Katniss got up. "Im gonna go get more supply. You watch out ey?" She said. I nodded. As soon as she left i got up feeling someone was watching me. And there it was the sharp spear-like arrow coming right at me. And it wasn't waiting. It was going faster than light.
