Chapter 2 Gray's Dilemma

"Manami here have some water" Lucy eyed the two siblings interaction "they've been together for so many years and we haven't noticed" Lucy had her hands on her temples not tearing her eyes from the two siblings Rai seemed to be caring for his younger sister like without a care for the others watching them "I know it's unexpected but you'll get used to them around" Levy said "you and Gajeel knew all this time?" Gray asks turning his attention to the soon to be mother "yep in fact I along with Yukino, Meredy and Minerva have helped Juvia and Laxus through it".

"I found you Natsu-san!" team Natsu watched on as the fire dragon slayer played with their master's great-granddaughter and grandson "Salamander seems to be enjoying himself" Gajeel pointed out "yes the guild does seem to be much livelier with them around" Erza says a sirene smile gracing her lips "it certainly seems to be keeping Natsu and the others in check especially with Manami around thank you for allowing her to come to the guild Juvia" Erza took a bite of her cake "oh no it's not a problem but you should be thanking Laxus" Juvia tore her eyes away from her kids knowing they were safe with Natsu "Laxus actually wanted to have Manami right in front of his eyes so Rai master and I came to a conclusion to have her at the guild with us where she'll be safe and we'll be able to keep an eye on her" the other women gave her a confused look "why?" the ice mage who she chose to ignore "I just want my daughter where I can keep an eye on her like I am my wife Fullbuster" Laxus put himself between Gray and Juvia who sweatdropped "it's none of your business what MY wife or MY family does..." Laxus gave Gray a hard look that told him to back off from his wife.

"so stick your nose out of my family's personal business including ones about my daughter" there was that look again.

Gray knew Laxus was telling him to keep away from his wife because she had moved on but he couldn't because he still liked her not in the friendly way more... more than that Gray Fullbuster was head over heels in love with Juvia Lockse- er Dreyar he always had been but just hadn't realised it at the beginning however when Gray did though he didn't act on them from fear of losing her too.

Gray knew... he knew it was wrong to be giving her false hope back when she was still into him however when she stopped and told him that she wanted to just remain friends maybe she had realised his growing feelings towards Lucy that's why she stopped or maybe Juvia was tired... tired of waiting.

He internally cringed at that realization maybe- no he had made her wait too long it was like Erza had warned him that she won't wait forever eventually Juvia will move on but he hadn't realized it would be so soon.

He didn't realize that Juvia was already moving on from him with... with Laxus of all people and create a family with him.

 huh it's not like her daughters ugly or something she's pretty adorable this girl doesn't even look like she's related to her brother and Laxus Gray found himself staring at the youngest of the siblings as she laughed and played with Natsu a glint of affection and care in her beautiful sea-green eyes.

Gray found himself for once in his life being jealous of Natsu for being able to make Manami who seemed to be comfortable and in place with Natsu more than anyone else over the time he had been observing the 3-year-old Gray realized how much she loved Natsu just the sight or mention of his name would make her brighten up.

A glint would always appear in her eyes it was one he had always seen whenever Manami was around him... her father Laxus Dreyar it meant that Manami viewed Natsu like a father so he knew even if something terrible were to happen to Juvia's husband Laxus then Gray wouldn't be the one to be beside her it would Natsu because Manami and Raijin would do everything to get the two mages together.

Natsu was perfect for Juvia just like Laxus no matter how much he wished that he was in Laxus's place but deep down in his heart Gray knew that Laxus and Juvia were for each other because no matter how mean or rude Laxus was the lightning dragon slayer still loved his wife unconditionally and he was a loving father to his kids no wonder Juvia had chosen him over Gray.

Manami was a lot like Juvia she loved Laxus because her father was worried about her safety so he sent her away to somewhere safe if Gray were in Laxus' place he wouldn't be able to let her go heck Gray wouldn't have thought of sending his darling daughter away from him he would spoil his daughter rotten if he had a family with Juvia Lockser.

Laxus on the other hand is also hard on Manami as much as he is loving towards her.

Laxus is patient and ready to hold or give her that extra push if and when his daughter needs like he convinced her to not shy away from master Makarov or the guild.

Gray knew that he wouldn't have been able to bring her out of her shell he would've waited until she was comfortable but Laxus he was ready to give her a hand to help her out of her shell.

Manami had looked back at Gray and he couldn't look away fast enough for her to not know that he was staring at her Manami flashed him a smile it wasn't those closed-eyed ones she gave to Natsu or that grin that she gave Laxus but it was enough for Gray.

Gray knew he'll never be anything more than a friend again for Juvia but he was fine with being her friend it was better than the cold shoulder.
