(Chapter Five)

PJ Parties and Catch Up

There are quite a few subjects to avoid when talking to Myrtle. Her death, her ex-friendship with the Grey Lady, koala bears, and apparently the founders. After Myrtle disappeared into the bench, Juliette waited for five minutes before deciding maybe the discussion was one best continued on a different day.

Juliette made her way to the library to do her weekly study/research session with a mind full of confusion and a bag full of homework. The halls were surprisingly quiet for a Thursday evening, although it was likely that everyone congregated in Great Hall for dinner. So you could imagine Juliette's surprise when she rounded the corner to face her favorite loud-mouthed American snogging Hufflepuff, Reginald Cattermole.

"Gin?"

The blonde girl detaches his lips from Reg's mouth and looks wide-eyed at her friend. "Jewels? Where did you come from?"

Juliette stood there in shock, looking between Gin and Reg, "What the fuck 'ave I missed the past month. Are you taking the piss?" Juliette rubbed her eyes and looked between the two again, "Am I taking the piss?"

At this point, Juliette's already confused mind has hit max levels of confusion. She watched as Gin whispered something in Reg's ear before pushing him in the opposite direction down the hall. Gin quickly strode forward to Juliette, grabbing her arm and tugging her in the opposite direction down the hallway.

"How is it that you manage to avoid talking to Ciara and me for months, and the first actual conversation we have is about Reg and me?"

Juliette paused for a second. "Woah, Woah, Woah. Since when is there you and Reg?"

"Shh," Gin looked around the empty hall before dragging Juliette into an empty classroom. "This is a casual and secretive development. I don't need you telling the whole school about it."

Juliette looked at Gin wide-eyed. "You're barely thirteen, Gin! Since when do second years have casual snogging sessions with fifth years!? They're Molly's age; could you imagine kissing Molly?"

Gin rolled her eyes and Juliette's words and moved to sit at one of the empty desks in the classroom. "You can't compare kissing Reg to kissing Molly; they are totally different people, god! I mean, I always thought that you were the rebellious mature one of the group, but I guess Gin is adding some Rum to the equation." Gin reached down and straightened her tie before turning back to Jewels with a raised eyebrow.

Jewels was not amused. "Okay, whatever. You know I'm not interested in dating anyone. Do I want a boyfriend? Duh. But, no offense, most of the boys at this school either aren't attractive or have the personality of a blade of grass, maybe not even a personality equal to that of a blade of grass. I don't have high expectations, but I do have some."
