{Chapter Two}
When You Realize You Have No FriendsJuliette had a tendency to appear far older than her actual age. Not in looks, but in her actions and words. She liked to think it was because she read a lot when in reality it was just the way of her character. However, there were moments when she let her antisocial book worm antics shine through. This being one of them.
Juliette had no idea what possessed her and made her leave the compartment but she did. She was thinking of going back in and saying she was joking but she had been standing outside of the compartment far to long to make it a joke. Therefore she did the next best thing: ran away in a orderly and calm fashion. Avoidance seemed like the best way to make/not make friends.
She shuffled down the hall, the train vibrating beneath her feet as it rattled through the countryside. She would have stopped and watch the scenery pass as she had done her first year but now she was too preoccupied in finding somewhere to sit. After searching for an empty compartment and realizing she probably should have just walked about into her original compartment she stumbled upon a compartment with a lone boy. He had no distinguishing tie around his neck or symbol on his robes so she automatically connected the dots; a first year.
Ready to share her totally not limited wisdom she opened the door loudly scaring the boy from his book. He looked at her with a glare but it faded as he realized that the girl wasn't who he had thought had entered his compartment.
"Can I sit with you?" Juliette asked in a timid voice not wanting to scare the poor boy. She had learned quickly from her brothers to be careful around first years as like deer they startle easily.
"Sure," the boy smiled looked at his book with longing before shutting it and turning his attention to the girl. "Ello, my name's Remus. I'm a first year, I am assuming your a Gryffindor?"
Juliette smiled her social awkwardness disappearing slightly in the presence of the boy who obviously possessed a similar awkwardness to her own. "Yup. My name is Juliette but you can call me Julie or Jules. I feel like Juliette is just a mouth full to say, you know what I mean?"
Remus did not but he agreed with the girl's statement anyways. "Eh well I am glad to meet someone some what normal," he started, "there were these two boys in here earlier and I swear that they must of been on something, I mean everyone is these days. But weirdly enough they had so much energy that it scared me. Those people will do—oh, you're back."
Juliette swiveled to look behind her and saw two remarkably similar looking boys. Both with messy dark hair and bright curious eyes. They had matching smirks which reminded Juliette greatly of her brothers. "Would you look at that Remus here is friends with an girl," the taller boy said slyness coating his voice. "Care to share with the group?"
