They were all out of college. They had jobs and lived in small apartments. However, they still mourned Hinata and Kageyama after a few years.
Daichi and Sugawara were ready for marriage, being 26 and in a happier place now. But before that, they wanted to bring the whole team—part of the team, back together again. Not for the last time though.
"Daichi, do you think this was a good idea?" Sugawara asked in a hushed voice. They were dressed in nice black clothing, standing on a bridge over a small lake.
The sun had started setting. They got lucky. There was a golden hour and every thing was burst with colour.
It was sad. But they wanted to do their best to not make it sad. They invited everyone to come back to their place to stay the night, but now they aren't sure if they want to follow through with it.
Daichi replied, "I don't think so, I know so." he emphasized. Though, it was just an act. He was also unsure of their plan.
The only reason they were now unsure, it because none of them have talked since the accident. All of them were scared someone would bring it up and it would nothing but heartache, so Daichi and Sugawara took matters into their own hands and decided to address for real.
"I think this is good." Daichi finished.
In return, Suga nodded and they walked off the bridge to sidewalk.
Plants were in bloom now that is as almost summer.
Footsteps could be heard on the bridge behind them. Recognizable voices spoke aloud.
"Where are those two? Hello?" it was Nishinoya. he walked alongside Asahi. Both of them were wearing black flannel shirts and jeans. But Nishinoya had a belt.
Daichi called out to them, "Rifht here, stupid!" he chuckled.
Nishinoya squinted his eyes to the blob of shade in front of him. They waved their arms and when Nishinoya noticed he jumped up and ran to them. Asahi followed closely behind his small boyfriend.
"Daichi! Suga!" he said happily. It's been a while since they las talked. If felt like they were meeting for the first time again, and they wanted to savior this moment.
"Nishi!" they said in unison.
"And me too!" Asahi sighed out. God, was it hard for him to keep up with Nishinoya.
"And us." A louder voice called out. They faced the bigger group of people walking and everyone was there.
Tanka, Kiyoko, Yachi, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi. But Ennoshita, Narita, and Kinoshita weren't. They had texted Suga and said they were unable to make it but said they missed Hinata and Kageyama and wished the best for them.
"Hello!" They all said. No one spoke for a brief moment and they all laughed. They laughed hard but calmed down quicker.
"What's up? What have we been doing?" Sugawara asked, a smile pasted on his face.
"Not much, I've been watching TV and uh... I don't know." Tanka spoke first.
There was nothing else to say.
Instead of wasting time, they walked a ways to get to the graves. It was quiet. Only sounds of cars and their shoes on the ground were heard.
No one wanted to say anything. They had created an unsettling mood but it was the right one for the situation they were in.
