Coward Prince

Chapter Four

Sherrysters? Where the hell did they get that kind of name to call themselves? It seems all funny to me but irritating at the same time. I really want to walk out right now. The least I wanted to see is these four unruly girls. I'm not afraid of them, not at all. It's just that I know that trouble loves them so much that they would eagerly pass this curse to other people near them.  

Rico straightened up to see who just called him prince-charming. He didn't respond or flirt back, he just smiled a friendly smile and get back to eating his pizza slice. I admired him on that one. Sherry was kind of embarrassed because she felt ignored. Most of the guys usually flirt back with her and sometimes do something more than flirt and they've gone way far on that.  

"So tell me Rico, do you want to go out tonight? I heard there is a good movie playing. It's about a prince and a princess's forbidden love. Do you wanna come? We'll be driving out of town. It would be so fun!" She mused. She always got the upper hand. Driving out of town with friends isn't actually a problem. 

"What is a movie?" Rico asked with pure innocence that kind of bothered me. 

Firstly, I don't know how to react on that one. I was kind of stoned. I don't know why because I don't want him to get embarrassed in front of a crowd of filthy little demons that will later spread the news of how dumb he is. I don't want them to think that he came from some parts of the jungle. Especially when Sherry is the one asking, she will probably make him the next laughing stock of Malisbury High. All sort of illusions flowed through mind. What if they find out that he's a real prince? What if they are the people that will lead the terrorists to get him into trouble too? It's funny to think of it, but I'm truly worried for him. 

"That sounds like a yes." Sherry smirked. That's all that she say. Whew! What a relief... or not.  

"Wait. If you're taking me with you I want Karly to come too." Rico said. 

Sherry looked at me with her face saying 'Seriously?' I know that she really don't want me to go with her Sherrysters, but I think she really wanted Rico to come, so she had no choice but to say yes. 

"Fine, as long as you'll come." Sherry smirked again. She stood up from the table and blew Rico a kiss goodbye.  

I turned facing Rico, "You know what the problem with you is? You're such a show off! You should've said no." I looked so irritated. 

"I just can't take down offers, and besides, I wanted to explore things around here. Maybe it will be kind of fun too. Can you just bear with me? For the first time in my life, I wanted to be happy, loosen up a little bit." Rico said. 

"I thought you're happy with your life." 

"I'm not." He said with his lips pursed. 

The bell rang. It's time to get back to business, study time. Three hours of ultimate boredom and we are out. I waved goodbye to Andy when we are finally dismissed. I am still worrying about what happened to Victoria. I was planning to visit her place but on another thought, maybe she'll just get mad at me more. 

I walked home with Rico. As we were walking on the dusty path of Malisbury, he came to ask me more about my life. What is it like and stuff. In my surprise, he is amused by all my answers. 

"Wow! Your place is amazing if that's the case." He smiled sweetly again. "You know, I think your mom is really kind and nice. I just wanted to say thank you to the both of you. I don't know where I'll be without you guys." 

"Sure thing and Stephanie isn't my real mother okay, just so you know." 

"Really? My father isn't really my real father too but you are luckier. Stephanie is a nice mom. She didn't give you any pressure unlike my dad."
