part two

Naruto's pov:

I rolled over in bed, I usually couldn't sleep alone. I never really could to an extent for most of my life, I had gotten so used to the arguing neighbors or the banging on my door from the manager it had not made me feel alone in my rundown apartment. Or was it just me running from the angry villagers that it made me paranoid to sleep alone. Hell even when I moved with ino i had trouble falling asleep and she was next to me, I guess I felt more alone than ever. It didn't really feel like she had my back now that I think about it, even with her I basically slept with one eye open out of habit. I was dragged from my thoughts from a crash in the next room. There was muffled yelling and I shot up in bed.

I sprang to my feet and was out the door, the yelling was louder and coming from Sasuke's room. I burst through the door, I froze for a second. Sasuke was rolling in the bed and one of the lamps was on the floor in pieces. I shook my head and went back into motion. "Please don't hurt him, I'm sorry!" he yelled, I grabbed his shoulders trying to calm him. "Hey it's a dream!" I said trying to bring my voice over his yelling. It was hard to keep him down on the bed from attacking anything, especially me.

After multiple failed attempts to wake him up. I finally succeeded, his eyes shot open darting up in bed as I jumped back so we wouldn't hit foreheads. He looked around the room frantically like he was trying to remember where he was. Soon his eyes landed on me and suddenly his arms were locked around me, it felt like he was gonna break my back but I hugged back. I was shocked to see him so uncomposed, I felt pride that he let me see so much emotion but also sad that it was so much fear and negativity. I rubbed his back while he hid his face in my shoulder crying and trying to breath. All I could do was whisper in his ear that he was alright and hold him tighter till he calmed down. I was way out of my depth, comforting people wasn't my specialty and I was silently panicking. I've never seen him like this so I wouldn't know the first thing to do anyway.

Soon enough though I had been able to sit him down with his head still buried in my shoulder, he was technically sitting in my lap so it would be more comfortable. He had stopped crying but kept his arms wrapped around my neck and his face hidden. I sighed and kept rubbing his back hoping to coax him out of his hiding spot. He lifted his head which made me freeze and look at him, it was mesmerizing seeing his face up close even if he's been crying. His cheeks and nose were a little red and his eyes still watery but that couldn't stop me from staring. His eyes were beautiful even if they were just simple black to others it was totally different to me. After what felt like years, he finally broke eye contact and jumped off my lap. I pouted from the loss of heat but shook my head, my face heating up a little. I stood up and looked at the broken lamp on the floor. I hummed and looked at the other, they were totally different lamps. "Has this happened before?" I asked, pointing to the other lamp. He looked confused before following my finger to the other lamp then looking down after his eyes widened a little.

I chuckled, "it's ok, you don't have to be ashamed around me, I understand" I said with a smile. He looked up but back down, I hummed in content with his shy antics. I went and started picking up the broken pieces of glass, he had gotten up after noticing and was gonna say something but I held up a hand. "No, you sit back down, I'm not letting you pick up something after what happened," I said in a firm tone before looking back at the floor when Sasuke sat back down with a grumble. I picked up the rest of the glass and put it in the biggest piece before taking it to the kitchen and putting it in the trash. I decided to get him a glass of water as well, my throat would always be dry after waking up from a nightmare like that. It had actually gotten to the point where kurama had to block my dreams...I shook my head from the thoughts. No time to be gloomy when someone needs you Naruto, I scowled myself. I brought the water back and handed it to him, he glared at the water. "Look you're gonna have to deal with me being like this, I've never seen you so worked up over a nightmare and you scared the shit out of me so it's either you suck up that Uchiha stone cold attitude and let me in or we'll just do it the hard way like we usually do it, despite what you may think you can't do everything alone dumbass".
