They are rustling through their notebooks to find a perfect song to do at the party tomorrow.
"What about the one we were working on the other day?" Reggie asks.
"No," Brittany replies. "I think it should be something fresh, ya know." Brittany throws her notebook down on the couch and walks over to Luke, who is standing against the amp. She takes Luke's notebook out of his hands.
"Hey!" He says to her. "Give that back!" She flips through all of the pages until she sees a song.
"Love Will Light The Day? Wow Luke. That's a little lovey dovey, don't you think?"
"Can I have that back please? I don't think it would work. We need an upbeat song."
"You speak near and true. But not what I hear from you. For your eyes say it all. And I admit I'm about to fall."
"Seriously Brittany. Give that back!" He starts chasing her around the studio. She is able to get away from him, but only for about a couple of seconds. He grabs her by the waste with one arm and picks her up. He takes his notebook back and sets her back on the floor. "Thank you!"
She rolls her eyes at him and says, "Whatever! Anyways, if we can't find a song in time, we are gonna have to cancel and wait until our next gig."
"Fine! We can do this song! We are gonna have to find another one to do."
"Yay. And okay. We'll find one. I promise!"
"This song is a duet."
"Great. So will you and I sing it? Or do you want to sing it with Alex?"
"Why would he want to sing it with it Alex?" Bobby asks.
Luke shoots her the dirtiest look. "Seriously Brit?!" He asks her. "Um, because I am dating him. And I am bi."
"What is Bi anyways?" Reggie says not getting what Luke says.
"It's a person who likes both boys and girls. Like me Reg. I like both girls and boys." He emphasizes the word and because he needs Reggie to understand it.
"Oh okay. Wait, what?! You're bi? And you're dating Alex?!"
"Yeah."
"We aren't going to judge Luke," Bobby says. "Not at all. We are okay with who you are. Inside and out."
"Yeah," Reggie says agreeing with Bobby. "Anyways, do you want to song it with Alex?"
"No," Luke replies. "Only because I think it would sound better with a boy and girl voice. No offense Alex."
"None taken."
"Okay," Brittany says. "Done this is going to be a duet, Luke can teach it to me later. We need to do one for all of us. We'll just have to keep looking."
They all nod and go back to flipping through their notebooks to find a song. "Wait!" Bobby says. "What about this one?"
"Ride?" Reggie says reading off the title out loud. "It sounds good to me. What about you guys?"
"Yeah," Brittany says. "I'm okay with it." Alex and Bobby nod in agreement. "Well, let's get practicing!" Reggie, Bobby and Luke grab their guitars and tune them to the right pitch. Brittany grabs her mic out of her backpack and hooks it up to the amp. She grabs Luke's notebook off of the amp and scans through the first verse and chorus. "Okay. I think I have the first verse and chorus memorized. Let's go!"
The music starts to play and Brittany starts singing. "I just wanna stay in the sun where I find. I know it's hard sometimes." It is really good. This song Bobby wrote is really good. The sound is amazing, the music is clashing together. They sound perfect. The melody is amazing and Brittany's voice clashing with it also sounds amazing. Out of nowhere, they see someone come through the open studio doors.  Alex and Brittany's mom is standing in the doorway. They stop playing to greet her.
"Hey mom," Alex says. "What are you doing here? Not to be rude or anything!"
"I just wanted to see you guys rehearse," she replies. "Is that bad?"
"No," Like replies. "Of course it isn't Mrs. Mercer. Please sit and enjoy!"
"Thank you and please, call me Donna." Luke nods as she sits down.
"Anyways," Brittany says. "We are working on a song that Bobby wrote. I only have the first part down, and also the chorus. We just started rehearsing it today."
"Well. Let me hear it!"
They all get in position and start playing what they have already learned. It actually sounds better than before. They are more together, more in tune and it just sounds overall perfect. When Brittany goes to look at Luke, she sees that he is already looking at her. She quickly takes her mic off of the stand and walks around. She walks over to Reggie and puts her arm on his shoulder. Then the music stops.
"That's what we got so far!" Brittany says excitedly. "What do you think?"
"It's really good," Donna replies.
"Bobby wrote it. And we are performing another song after it. One that Luke wrote."
"Can I hear it?"
"Oh," Luke says. "We really haven't practiced it yet."
"Okay. That's fine. Anyways, I have to go. I need to go somewhere. I will see you two back at home right?"
The blonde twins nod with a smile. "Good. See you later boys!" When Donna leaves, they go back to practicing that one part for what seems like hours.
"Hey," Brittany exclaims after a couple of hours of practicing. "What time is it?"
Luke looks at his watch and replies,"Six o'clock. Do you have a couple more hours in you?"
"Yeah. I do. Do you guys?" Luke nods, but the rest of the boys shake their head no.
"I'm beat sis," Alex replies. "I need to get some sleep."
"Yeah babe," Reggie answers out of breath for some reason. "I'm beat as well. I need to hit the hay. Can we call it a night?"
"Yeah," Brittany says to them. "Actually, you three can. Luke and I can stay a little longer to work on the duet! What do you say Luke?"
"Yeah," He replies. "Okay." Alex and Bobby automatically grab their stuff and head out of the studio. Reggie follows them, but before he leaves, he walks over to Brittany and kisses her.
"I'll see you tomorrow," he says to her.
"Okay," Brittany replies. Reggie heads out of the studio and automatically, Brittany grabs Luke's notebook out of his hands.
"Seriously," he remarks. "We're back to the grabbing!"
"Well, we need to practice the song don't we. And it would have to involve some grabbing. Let's start from the beginning!" He nods and walks over to the piano and sits down. "What are you doing?"
"It would sound better with a piano and not a guitar."
"Okay. It would probably sound better if someone who actually knew how to play the piano-" She was cut off by Luke playing the piano. Really good.
"You mean like that?" He asks her after he finishes.
"Yeah. Exactly like that. Anyways, let's just get to practicing."
Luke starts playing the piano and tells her,"I go first." And then he starts singing.
