The sun is shining and the birds are chirping. Brittany opens her eyes and notices that she is laying in Luke's arms. She is too comfy and she really doesn't want to move, but she does. She sits up and moves her hand over to Luke's arm to wake him up for school. He doesn't wake up. She shakes him even harder and still no response. She moves her leg and sits on top of his lungs. He wakes up quickly. "Dude," he says to her. "Get off. I can't breathe!" She gets off of him and sits at the edge of his bed. He sits up and glides next to her. "Why did you sit on me?"

"You weren't waking up," she replies. "What else was I supposed to do? Poor water on you? Although, that would have been hilarious." They both laugh. "Anyways, we should get going. I need some clothes for school. Come on. Let's go."

"Can I change first? I need clean clothes as well!" She nods. Before she gets out of his room, Luke already has his shirt and pants off. "Turn around or get out. Those are your options." She turns around.

"So. How was your first day back yesterday?"

"It was okay. Minus the part where you lost your dad." Brittany honestly forgot until just now. How could she forget about that? "I mean, you throwing that roll at Adam was the best part of that day." They both laugh.

"Yeah. It was. Now, are you done?"

"Let's go. Come on." She turns around to see that his shirt is still off. "What?"

"Nothing. Come on. Let's go."

They grab their stuff and head out of his room. They walk downstairs and try to avoid seeing his mom. "Hey," a female voice says to them. "Where do you two think you are going?"

"Hey mom," Luke says. "We are stopping at her house before we go to school. She needs a change of clothes."

"Okay. Have fun and don't skip class today. You know I'll get a call if you do!" The two of them turn around and walk out of the house. They walk to the car and Brittany says, "Where are my keys?" Luke digs through his bag and pulls her keys out of his smaller pocket. He throws them to her and they get in the car. 'I feel bad for him', Brittany's inner thoughts start. ' I wish he had parents that accept him and don't judge others  for who they are or who they are related to. Parents who love him for who he is. I just need to keep my eyes from filling with tears. So, change the thought in my head to something positive.' She looks over at Luke, smiles and back on the road.

"What?" He says catching her smiling at her.

"Nothing," she replies. "Doesn't matter."

"Tell me. What's on your mind Brit?"

"I just hate what your mom said last night. It makes me want to rip out her throat!"

"Yeah. Same."

"I'm sorry that you have to deal with that every day. She's not a nice person at all. She just wants everything to go her way. She wants everything to be perfect. She doesn't see that you are perfect." She yelled the last sentence. She lets the tears in her eyes roll down her cheeks.

"Hey. Are you okay?"

"No. I'm not. Anyways. We're here." She turns off her car and gets out. As they both walk towards her house, Brittany is wishing that she didn't say that he is perfect.

"Brittany?" She hears a male voice say. She knows it's Alex and not her dad. "Is that you?" He walks from the kitchen towards the two clueless people standing in front of the door. "Yes. It is. It's you and Luke. Is there anything I should know?" Brittany look at each other and back at Alex.

"No," Brittany replies. "I was really tired so I just stayed the night at his house and here we are." Tears start to roll down her cheeks because it reminds her of what Luke's mom said about Alex and her.
