Ion Sinn's POV
Lifting her still body, I carried Violet up the stairs two at a time, Kent and Layla following close behind. Finally, I got past my own bedroom's security and laid her down on her back on the soft crimson duvet. "Is She going to make it? That was one huge syringe." It was Kent that spoke up, surprisingly.
Shaking my head, I sat down at her side, brushing away the stray hairs from her face. "I really don't know." Her lips were turning slightly bluish which had me worried. It usually means not enough oxygen to the blood. I kept my ears attuned to the sound of her heart, which was becoming slower by the second. "Kent, I don't know what to do?" Scared at the thought of losing her, I gathered her upper body in my arms and rocked her back and forth, whispering into her hair, "Please, baby! Please don't leave me now that I've found you... Please! Please, baby, wake up for me..."
Her head moved just slightly, and her eyes opened. "Violet, can you hear me, baby?" She nodded and I got tears in my eyes while all my emotions balled up in my chest, and stomach, as I sniffled.
Her eyes never left mine as she choked out, "Y-you said you l-loved me..." I nodded and held her closer to my chest. Her breathing wasn't sounding very good.
"Yes Violet, I love you. I love you with all that I am, and ever have been." Tears ran down my cheeks but I didn't care. The happiness I saw in her face was everything to me.
Tears ran from the corners of her eyes as she smiled softly. "Ion, I-I lo-" the air went out of her lungs, her body limp, and as I saw her eyes just blankly staring at me.
"NOOOOOO!!!!!! OH GOD, NO!!!" Crushing my head against her shoulder, I cried like a madman. She was the only real reason beyond my brothers, that I had for living. "Don't leave me alone..." I whispered into her hair in my grief. I'd waited for a little over five thousand years on this earth waiting for her to come into existence. I couldn't let her go like this! Not like this! Frantic to get her back, I stood up and began pounding my fists on her chest. "Come back to me, Violet! Don't you dare go without me!" I began to shout.
Seeing the madness in my grief, Kent came up behind me looping his arms under mine as he dragged me back, away from the bed. "DAMNIT SHE'S GONE, ION!!! Let her go in peace." Lunging forward I broke free. My eyes turning a jet black, that flashed with hellfire. Taken by surprise, Layla jumped behind Kent, while he faced me head-on. "Ion, you are no ordinary vampire ancient... What the hell are you?"
Realizing what had happened, that I had lost control, I turned away from them both. "You wouldn't understand... Let it go. Now is not the-" My growl came to an end as I saw a chestnut-haired five-foot Fae that looked hauntingly like Violet standing next to the bed.
"Good thing I got here in time." She reached into a small pouch at the waist of her 3/4 length white dress and removed a vial of a bluish liquid. Her scent swirled in the air, more potent than Violet's. "This will neutralize the belladonna and nightshade." She poured the liquid into Violet's open mouth and then rested her hand against Violet's forehead. Within moments it began to glow a light lavender. "This will restart her healing processes and I am opening up her powers, so she can defend herself better against those that would hurt her." She turned and faced me, I was so stunned... "I am Saere Liannè, Violet's mother. You should be more careful with her, now and in the future Ion." My jaw just about hit the floor as Kent and Layla went running out of the room.
My brow furrowed as I looked at her. "How did you get out of the jail? And how do you know my name?"
"I know all about you Ion, my daughter's heart speaks of rarely anything else." She sighed and stepped toward me unafraid. "The death of a royal is felt by all. I was the logical choice to come. It's that simple." A broad smile crossed her face. "Ahh...I sense she's alive. Tend to her. Now I must go...and uh...Ion? I'll be watching..."
