Ion Sinn's POV

Sitting upright slowly, I reached out and took Violet by the fingertips. "Let me explain, please... Our history here started thousands of years ago. Close to five thousand. But I get ahead of myself.

You see, in hell where I come from, there is no place for the remains of demons to go, unlike heaven here.

The essence of each of the demons of the Seven Deadly Sins had been collected separately as they died. The last of them, Asmodeus, had finally died, though all their names live on today. We have been more discreet. My brothers and I are the reincarnated essences of four of the deadly sins." The clan Greystone has the three others that are also deadly sins."

"Wait a minute, there are only three of you." She seemed to be calming after her initial reaction, so I took it as a good sign.

"Of clan Sinn, I am Ion the Sin of Lust, Jonas is the Sin of Greed and Liam is the Sin of Sloth. Our sister who is not ready to rise from hell again, Is Iona the Sinn of Wrath.

Clan Greystone is Kent, the Sin of Pride, Gavin the Sin of Envy, and Layla the Sin of Gluttony."

Nodding in understanding, her brow furrowed again. "This is weird... How did you end up as a vampire though? That's if you are one." A raised brow was all I needed to help explain the rest.

"We were all captured in a portal leading to the surface by an ancient vampire called Corrakas, who had made a deal with the Fae. They could use samples of his skin, to create skins that were to be used to trap us in the human realm as vampires. But should one of us find a special one that could love us as we loved them, the curse would be lifted.

As you can probably figure out, Corrakas is Karrack." Her eyes widened and I was glad that I still had her attention. "It was he that trapped us. But the Fae tricked him too. In working with them, he got himself trapped. Stuck to wander through time with us, to be assured we were not set free."

Slowly, I felt her fingers curl around mine again in careful acceptance. "So, you do love me...it's real. But if so, why isn't the curse lifted?" She raised her eyes to mine and never had my heart felt such a strong warmth from the love inside of me. I found myself just wanting to sweep her up into my arms forever.

Shrugging, I opened my arms to her and she quickly dove into them, our naked skin touching once more. "All I can figure is that it may be because you and I have not been together while I am in my natural form. Which means huge black wings."

Looking up at me, her big soft brown eyes widened, "Wings? Are serious? God, that must be wonderful...No horns though?" As the light danced in her eyes, I could see the curiosity and a bit of excitement there.

Chuckling at her question, I stroked her long chestnut brown gain as it lay against my shoulder. "Nope! No horns. Though, I do have a...tail." I mentioned it carefully to see her reaction and she looked right up into my face and nodded.

"Um...can I ask another question?" Nodding, she shifted her gaze. "If Karrack did such a horrible thing, why allow him to stay with you?" Her eyes met mine again and I was relieved.

"You must know, this was thousands of years ago. That's a very long time, for him to follow us around like a stalker. Plus, it's always best to keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." I could see from the depths of her eyes, that the shock of all this had worn off and acceptance was settling in. I could not have asked for more.

Violet pulled back to arm's length, her lips curving into a soft smile. "So, are you going to show me?" She asked me quietly, curiosity was written all over her face, and the way she leaned forward a little bit.

Encouraged, I let her go and slid off the end of the bed. Very slowly, I allowed my great black wings to protrude from my shoulder blades and come out into the open. At first, all she could see was the black rounded shoulders rising from behind me until they were higher than my head. One at a time, the tips showed from down between my legs to drag on the floor a little. Her eyes were wide, but she wasn't afraid she was actually moving toward the end of the bed to see better.

Quickly, I snapped the wings open so she could see how huge they were with a wingspan of 40 ft. which was why I kept them hidden. Getting up from the bed, she reached out and touched the soft black feathers. "They remind me of the wings on an angel. But not." Her caress was so gentle, and these wings had not been stroked or massaged since I had been in hell... But this... This was heaven. God, it felt so good...

As my hand grasped her by the wrist, my long black tail with a blunted red tip whipped out from around my legs and wrapped her waist, shocking her."Sorry, but my tail seems to have a mind of its own at times."

Violet's POV

His tail wrapping around me came as a shock, so much so that I jumped a little, not having seen it coming. When I looked up into Ion's mercury eyes, He seemed so uncertain, almost afraid. Pulling my hand from his grasp, I reached back up to the wing I had been touching. The feathers were so soft and dense at the shoulder... made of a black so deep, there was a bluish tint to the feathers. Their texture was so incredibly smooth. From Ion's shoulder blades, the wings bowed out with what looked like fingers in the main shafts. "They are so beautiful, Ion. Can they really hold your weight for flight?" His brow furrowed and he looked as if he was reconsidering something.

"Yes, they can hold my weight. As a matter of fact, they could carry your weight too." He took both of my hands in his and looked down at our intertwining fingers. "Violet, if this changes how you feel about me, I'll under-" I cut him off right there.

"Ion, I love you for the man that you are... For what's in here..." I pointed at his heart. "...and for what's in here." Now, I pointed at his head. "Human, vampire, or demon. It may take some getting used to, but that's part of what being in a relationship together is all about. Acceptance." He took the last step toward me, our naked bodies so close I could feel some of his warmth radiating from him.

Sighing, Ion took both of my hands in his and spoke quietly. "As you know Violet, I am definitely no angel. But if you will allow me, I want to be yours, and only yours. In our short time, I've come to love you, and that will never change. But the question remains... Can you accept this part of me?"

His gaze met mine, and I smiled up at him lovingly, "Yes, I can accept you. I love you... Even I realize it's a bit early to feel this way, but I do. My entire being screams out to me, that you are the one. How do I know if it's true? It's hard to explain it...I just do." My heart was pounding by the time I finished, his must've been too because he wrapped his arms around me and captured my lips with his in a deep burning kiss that touched my soul.

Parting his lips slightly, our tongues writhed within our mouths touching and exploring as we had never kissed one another before. When my arms wrapped around his neck, Ion lifted me into his arms and carried me to the side of the bed.

Gently placing me down upon the mattress, our lips broke apart. He paused above me, suddenly his wings and tail disappearing. "I can't push you into this Violet, no matter how much I want you right now. If I stay in that form for this, I could hurt you far too easily." He hung his head and held it in his hands.

Sitting upright I placed my hand on his shoulder. He was struggling against something and the agony and fear were back in his eyes again. "What if this is the only way, though?" I didn't know what to say, let alone ask.

"There is one other way, but I can't ask such a thing of you. It is something you'd need time to think, to be sure that you wish it." I looked at him in confusion, but not without a little curiosity.

"Which is?" I asked softly as I rubbed his shoulder

His eyes met mine with seriousness so factual that made his mercury eyes seem cold, though I knew they were anything but, "I would have to turn you, into a vampire."

"A WHAT?!!"
