"Damn it! I hate ghosts' warnings, they're always so fucking mysterious..." Louisa shakes her head exasperated while pushing the stroller where little Diana Siena is sleeping ignoring the noise of Central Park, it's a nice day and there're lot of people walking, running, eating lunch sat on the lawn, laughing, kids are playing and screaming... "Why can't they say things clearly? This is going to happen so you better get ready, but no... they have to get enigmatic."

"I know, it seems they make things difficult for us deliberately..." Vinnia grimaces and sighs. "What I can assure you is that Iselen's grandmother is a wise and powerful old lady, I could feel it, like one of those legendary druids my mum used to talk me about... We'd better take her warning seriously."

"And what are we going to do? We didn't understand a word, to be honest." I growl angrily while walking behind them. Lester nods while eating his ice cream cone and the rest of the coven mumbles quietly, speculating about my grandmother's words while Ruby remains silent, walking absentmindedly although her hand holds mine and her thumb grazes my skin from time to time. I take a deep breath trying to calm down, I should be enjoying this day with my sisters and my precious goddaughter, but I can't help feeling jealous... They were supposed to summon my grandma so I could talk to her but in the end the old druid decided that it was more important to talk to Ruby than paying attention to her granddaughter.

"Well, let's stay positive, we do know some things." Savannah counts on her fingers while listing. "Something big is coming, it's bad and dangerous, we should get ready and stay together and Iselen's hunter is our secret weapon."

"Great, when the bad guys arrive I'll feel so sick that will throw up on their shoes so they'll die disgusted and problem solved..." I growl quietly and Louisa laughs loudly. "In fact, I'm starting to feel dizzy just thinking about it."

"No, it's not that, it's because of the hunters..." Thyra points back with her thumb over her shoulder. "They're everywhere."

"Hunters?" I ask scared looking around and walking a step closer to Louisa and Diana, ready to protect them. My movement seems to bring Ruby back to reality and she blinks before smiling amused.

"Calm down, Iselen, they won't hurt us, they haven't even realized we're witches..." she whispers the last word tilting her head towards me discreetly, looking at two boys sitting on a bench that are staring at us with a furrowed brown and seem to be baffled. "They can sense the magical power and know there's a harpy near, that's how they call us, but can't pinpoint the origin of the energy and that confuses them. Of course, we're all wearing protection charms and pendants and that makes their task difficult."

"The truth is that our coven is odd..." Louisa smiles pushing the stroller towards the Great Lawn, Lester takes some blankets from a backpack for us to sit down and Elvira and Aletta start handing sandwiches and drinks while my sister takes her baby in her arms. "Ouch!"

"Wait, I'll help you... Put your arm here and your fingers here, let Diana catch your nipple, she knows what to do, don't get nervous..." I sit down next to Louisa, putting a clean napkin under my goddaughter's chin. "It's a bit awkward at first but don't worry, you'll get used to each other soon and will find your own rhythm... Women believe that breastfeeding babies is easy but you have to get the hang of it... Patience is the key."

"You seem to know a lot about this," Ruby whispers sitting behind me and leaning her chin on my shoulder to watch the baby eating happily.

"How many times do I have to repeat it? I'm a druid," I answer rolling my eyes but smiling amused at the same time. "My grandma and all my ancestors were midwives and in addition to that, I have a nephew, I know how to handle babies."
