Prompt: "I think I'm hallucinating..."

Couple: Logan Sargeant and Oscar Piastri

A loud ringing stilled Logan's hand on its journey to his mouth. He dropped his piece of toast and brushed the crumbs off on his pants before reaching for his phone, desperate to make the noise stop. It was an unknown number, but Logan knew he should answer it, just in case it was important. It might have been winter break but there were still plenty of calls that could change a driver's life.

"Hello, Logan Sargeant speaking."

"Logan!" The words were shouted over the blasting music in the background, but it was clearly his ex-teammate.

"Oscar?"

"Yeah. I miss youuuu!"

"Oscar, I can't hear you," Logan said, frowning slightly. Why was Oscar calling him from what seemed like a party?

"Oh, wait a second." The music seemed to fade as Oscar apparently walked away from wherever he was. "I said I miss you!"

"I miss you too, but why are you calling me at-" Logan paused and pulled his phone from his ear to check the time, "-1 in the morning?"

"Because I can't stop thinking about you. About your lips on mine. Your hands on my body. The things you did to me that night." Logan's breath quickened at the memory. He remembered every second of that night, it was the best of his entire life. "I know you said it was a one-time thing, just for me to celebrate the championship and you to blow off steam. So it's dumb that I'm still thinking about it. But it's playing on repeat in my mind. Over and over." There was nothing the American wanted to do more than tell Oscar that it wasn't dumb- he felt the same- but by now Logan could hear the slur of the Australian's words, knew what had given his friend the courage to make the call.

"So I guess I'm calling to tell you that I miss you. That I love you. And that I really wish you were here with me right now." Oscar was met with silence, Logan's breathing the only sign that he was even still there. "Logan?"

"I can't do this right now." And the phone was hung up.

Oscar hadn't left his house since Friday night. Not only was he nursing a killer hangover, but he was also rejected by one of his best friends. He knew drinking would never end well, it's the main reason why he didn't have his own phone on him. And yet somehow his stupid self had managed to steal one of his friend's phones. And then Logan had hung up on him. Sober Oscar already knew all of this would happen- there's a reason Logan said it was a one-time thing when he approached him in Mugello- but Drunk Oscar was a hopeful idiot.

And now it was Sunday morning and Logan still hadn't replied to Oscar's apology message. Honestly, the worst part of it all was that it was way too early to be awake and yet he couldn't turn off his brain enough to be able to sleep. But if he was going to be awake, then Oscar at least needed coffee. He groaned and slipped out of bed, pulling some trackies on, and made his way to the kitchen. Or at least attempted to before he was interrupted by a knock on the door.

Oscar yawned as he opened the door and rubbed his eyes with one hand.

"Well, good morning to you too, sunshine," Logan's cheery voice said. Oscar's face paled, his eyes widened, and his jaw practically hit the floor. Logan chuckled. "Are you still breathing?"

"I think I'm hallucinating..."

"You're definitely not darling, don't worry. Now, can I come in please?" Oscar stepped to the side and let Logan passed but the shocked expression still didn't drop from his face. Logan slipped out of his shoes and headed straight for the kitchen.

The Australian watched as Logan approached the fridge, stopping when he spotted the photo that lay there. "That's adorable. I can't believe you have that photo up on your fridge." When it was clear that he would be getting no response, Logan continued with his task.

"What are you doing here?" Oscar finally found his words after watching the American pull out two mugs and fill up the milk frother.

"Making coffees?" Logan raised his eyebrows.

"No, I can see that. I meant what are you doing here? What are you doing in Melbourne? I thought you were in Florida." Logan stopped what he was doing and turned to face Oscar.

"Oscar, I'm here because of you. I'm here because you called me in the middle of the night, clearly drunk, and told me you loved me. I'm here because having that conversation over the phone felt wrong. I'm here because I wanted to hold you in my arms now that I know you feel the same. I'm here because this is where I should have been the whole time, right by your side." Oscar's breathing stuttered slightly at Logan's words.

"So...?"

"So, I booked the first flight I could get, drove to the airport and flew all the way here. I'm sorry for not replying to your message. With all the chaos of trying to get here, I only saw it a few hours ago when I landed and I figured it would be easier to respond in person at that point. I'm also sorry for hanging up like that. I kind of freaked out." Logan rubbed the back of his neck.

"Do you want me to tell you again then? So you can answer in person?"

"Yes, please. Please do that." By this point both boys had smiles that could give Daniel's a run for his money.

"Logan Sargeant, I love you."

"Oscar Jack Piastri, I love you."

"Hey! How did you find out my middle name?"

"You weren't the only one who couldn't stop thinking about that night. So I might have done some googling. That's also how I knew that it was 1 in the morning for you when you called me. I have the time difference memorised," Logan explained.

"Idiot. You're lucky I love you or might just have to report you for stalking."

"You wouldn't dare!" Logan said, fake gasping. He began to chase Oscar through the house trying to tickle him, but he only succeeded once the Australian had cornered himself in his bedroom. Before he could even lay a finger on him though, Oscar called for a truce.

"No tickles please, I beg you!"

"Yeah? And what are you gonna do to stop me?" Logan cocked an eyebrow and stepped closer to the Australian.

"Offer you cuddles instead? You must be tired with all the jet lag so a movie day might be a good idea. And I guess it would technically count as our first date too." Oscar cheekily smiled at Logan, attempting to convince him with his eyes.

"That sounds perfect." And with that Logan moved forward again, but this time he cupped Oscar's cheeks and gently connected their lips. "As long as I'm with you, anything would be perfect."

Author's Note:

Hey everyone! I promise I'm not dead but this year is set to be absolute chaos for me. So I'm gonna do my best to write when I can but don't be too surprised if updates aren't very frequent. But I have a huge stack of requests that I will get around to eventually so that should keep me busy (for when I can write that it is lol).

Hope you enjoyed :)

Lots of love xxx
