two

"taemin? wow it's a pleasant surprise!" siyeon voices out, standing up to greet her unexpected visitor to her office.

"we haven't met in a long time hm?" taemin says, taken aback by how surprised by how siyeon was.

"duh. it was like months ago. your birthday party."

"ah yes. we got pretty wasted. " taemin shyly answered.

taemin has been siyeon's friends since their law days. both she and taemin graduated at the same time. now both siyeon and taemin have opened their own firms, but its their bond that still keeps them together even if they're busy.

"anyways what brings you here?" siyeon asks after taemin took a seat.

"actually, today was suppose to be a mere visit but i got a call yesterday."

"i'm listening."

"i got a case yesterday. was from the child custody. two sisters and,"

"one's 20 and the other is 12, her stepsister. apparently the child custody can't keep the older one because, you know she's legally an adult. not much is known about the family but the father wants custody of the younger one."

"there were alot of crucial information too but unless you take this case, i can't tell much. i have alot of cases to handle at the moment so i thought of proposing this case to you-"

"okay." siyeon stops taemin.

"i'll take it."

"ah, wow. hasn't it been a while since you've gotten a case like that?" minji questions 

"mhm."

"anyways, it's getting late now. let's go back." siyeon says, looking at the dark covering over the sky.

"aight if you says so." minji stands up.

siyeon helped minji with tidying the cafe before both of them headed home. siyeon was walking along the road, with the street lights already flashing.

as siyeon's mind was wandering over places, her thoughts were stopped as a sudden rusttling was heard. little cheers were also heard from the alleyway siyeon was passing by. being the curious woman she was, she took a look. they were two guys gathered with someone rather tiny in the middle.

"fucking christ leave me alone! ya'll won't pick someone of your own size?"

"oh shut the hell up girl, now come with us!" the man aggresively grabs the girl's wrist. the girl struggled to shake off the man's strong grip.

"hey, leave the girl alone." 

"oh look some hero stepped in."

"oh i'm so scared!" one of the men joked.

one of the guy's approaches siyeon and his chest bulked up and a smug smirk on his face.

"leave her alone." siyeon says through gritted teeth.

"what could a woman possibly do?

siyeon smirks.

she answered while maintaining eye contact with the man. 

"everything."

a large stomp with her high heels was enough to make the man groan in pain. siyeon continue by pressing in deeper and deeper with a smug smirk plastered in her face now.

his other friend figured what was happening and released his grip and went to attack siyeon. siyeon's eyes averted to the man coming from the back, so she pushed the guy in pain towards the man from behind, which ended with both of them tumbling on each other.

as both men were groaning on the ground, it gave enough time for siyeon to grab the girl's hand and escaped before things got worse. both ran like there was no tomorrow as the sky got darker. after a few miles away and with no two men in their view, they stopped to take a breath.

"jesus christ. why does this feel like a movie?" siyeon says in between her breaths, to which the girl softly giggled to.

siyeon was a little taken aback because the giggle of that girl actually made her heart tingle a little. she stares at the girl who was busy huffing for air.

"thank you. i was really defensive back there because of my.. height."

the girl finally spoke up. 

"it's no problem but, why stay alone when the day get dark?" siyeon questions, staying modest.

"aren't you alone too?"

"i was heading home. and i think you should too." 

"haha, very funny. if only i had one."

only silence brought up the atmosphere around after that sentence.

"i had one few weeks back but, i don't know if you'd even call that home. anyways i got kicked out but meh." she bitterly giggles. 

"what's your name?"

"bora."

"kim bora."

"okay so what's her name again?" siyeon questions regarding the case.

"bora." taemin answers.

"kim bora."

the girl realized she's made the atmosphere awkward. "i'm sorry for bothering you, i'll be going now-"

"wait." siyeon stops bora. 

"come home with me."

".. what?"

"what." 

bora stands with shock while siyeon stands with confusion.
