"So I think these mountains are beautiful and all but why are out here? We can just train normally at home. Plus I know the basics. Martial arts and I'm a pretty skilled swordsman." Kai said, as he hiked up the mountain, trailing behind Kazuto.
"The first week we'll be doing the basics. Fist to fist combat. Probably some instructions with your magic abilities too. Then the next week I'll teach how you enter your higher chakras so you can become even more powerful. Then finally I'll teach you our most sacred ability. The ability that even Trihexa fears. Manifestation."
"Manifestation? So you're telling me that manifesting something can stop the incarceration of pure evil that's prophesied to bring great ruin to us? That makes no sense." Kai retorted, stopping in his tracks.
Kazuto turned around wearing a annoyed expression. "The power has no effect without faith. But trust me. It works. I've fought against Trihexa before briefly and that was 170 years ago when he was still in his weakest state. He demolished five cities in a row, killed a Immortal, and almost killed me. I manifested a way out of there alive. Same couldn't be said for my partner." He explained as he continued hiking up the mountain.
Kai mumbled to himself and followed Kazuto up the mountain. They stopped after arriving at the cabin they'd be staying at for the next month.
Kai entered the house and placed down his bags and grabbed a soda from his bag.
"Don't drink that. Only distilled water and lemon water from now on. And get rid of those chips. We're on a vegetarian diet for the next month. Natural fruits and vegetables. I have a wide selection of both in the fridge." Kazuto said and Kai scuffed, knowing it would be a long month ahead of him.

Repeatedly punching at Kazuto, Kai was burning out his stamina and Kazuto took note of this. After blocking heavy punches from Kai, Kazuto dropped his defense and socked Kai in the jaw, pushing him back.
Kai shook the pain off and rushed Kazuto, who evaded him and whacked him on the back of his head. Kai staggered back before Kazuto delivered a crippling punch to his stomach which dropped him down to the ground.
"Shit." Kai groaned, clutching his stomach in pain. Kazuto looked at him with a annoyed expression and walked off.
"You'll never reach a higher level of power if you're fighting like this. The fate of humanity rest in our hands. Use your brain more idiot. If not then everyone dies. Rias, Akeno, Kiba, everyone you care about dies." Kazuto barked, staring at Kai laying down in pain.
The words ringed in his head, finally registering that Rias and Kiba could be endangered if he didn't get strong enough. What about the rest of the world? To hell with them. He only cared about Rias and Kiba. They were the only ones who he loved.
Kai got up slowly and got into his fighting stance. He dashed forward and punched at Kazuto but at the last minute before the punch connected, he sent a kick towards Kazuto which caught him off guard.
Kazuto was sent flying backwards and Kai followed up with a series of swift and heavy punches. Kazuto got socked in the nose which healed immediately but his eyes had watered so he could barely see anything.
Kai grabbed him by his ankle and tossed him off the side of the mountain. Kazuto caught himself in mid air and started levitating.
"So I see your friends are your inspiration then. Well I need this motivated Kai for the rest of the month if you want to save them." Kazuto said, floating down in front of Kai, patting him on his shoulder.

"Argh!" Kai grunted as he got smacked in the face by Kazuto's staff. Kai dashed forward and clashed with Kazuto, with Kai started to overpower him.
Kazuto kicked Kai in his stomach and swung his staff which hit Kai in the nose. Blood gushed from his nose and a sharp pain spiked in his nose before healing.
Kai gripped his staff and focused his magical power into it. A small sum of magic appeared at the tip of his staff, he then directed the ball of magic towards Kazuto at lightning fast speeds.
Kazuto used his staff to slash through magic energy and pierced his staff through Kai's stomach.
"How did you do that?" He asked as he coughed up a bit of blood.
Kazuto retracted the staff from Kai's stomach and smirked. "You have to master your connection with staff for it to protect you like that. I'll teach you that next week though." Kazuto chuckled.
Kai laughed too and thought to himself that maybe being up there with Kazuto wouldn't be unbearable. Sure he missed Rias but he loved the thrill of being pushed to his Immortal limits.
He'd take the training over being spooned and babied by Rias over anything.
A/N: I'll try to write the second part to this and get it done by today. But guys let me know if I should try to make this long (like 30-35 chapters) or should I keep it short (15-25 chapters). Let me know in the comments.
