Sun fills the room as I wake from the night not long forgotten. Taking in the scenery of my room I come out of my drowsy state. Last night took a turn for the better after dancing. It would be best to check on Wilbur's state after his long night of drinking.

Quickly, I got out of my nightgown and put on the dress laid out for me by one of the maids. The white fabric holds onto my figure from the waist up while the rest is flowy. Light blue stitches are around the sleeves and the bottom of the dress. Finishing my look with a blue ribbon hold a braid together, I smile into the mirror.

"The shock on his face when he is told what happened last night will be something I remember forever," I mutter while making my way over to the door. The servants must have already seen his state when realizing he did not wake at his usual hour. Servants' footsteps make their way through the house polishing, cleaning, and taking care of the archives.

Wilbur's room is not too far from mine so I come across his door after not too long. "Before you can get started on rambling Wilbur, I just wanted to clarify that it was your decision that led up to this," saying with a slight smirk on your face. Wilbur has always called you out when your accidents led to this embarrassment.

Getting no word of a response from the men you look up to see his head servant tidying up his unoccupied bed. "I'm sorry Miss Everleigh, but your brother has already started his day an hour ago. He took medicine for his hangover right as he woke and made his way over to the Athertons."

Wilbur's head butler, James, could figure what you were thinking like your head maid, Penelope. "Thank you, Mr. Redding," you say while backing out of the room. You turn away from the embarrassment you felt at that moment and make your way down the stairs, completely lost in thought.

Why must he leave so quick to the Athertons?

Wilbur must be going over last night's ball with Philza for understanding. Neither of them will understand anyways due to them both being in the same delirious states.

"Y/n? Are you all right my dear?" My father's voice brings me back to reality, standing right in front of him at the beginning of the stairs.

"Sorry to have troubled you father. I'll be making my way to the Athertons house so I will not be joining you and mother for breakfast." I look at him for approval upon leaving.

His eyes wander for a minute or two to decide how he should answer the question. "You may go as long as you make sure to deliver this envelope to Sir Atherton. Wilbur was already on his way there before I could talk to him so this should make it easier for him to receive it." He pulls out an envelope addressed to Sir Atherton.

"I will be sure to give it to him when I arrive." I smile at him.

"All right now go along. I'll tell mother where you went so she doesn't worry." Reassuring me as I give him a quick hug before I go.

The sun made its way to the top of the sky. Lighting up the city of Brighton for everyone to enjoy. I make my way to the Atherton's estate on foot as they aren't too far from us. Philza made sure that they bought an estate near us so he and Wilbur didn't need an excuse not to work together.

I made my way around the last corner to their house that is covered in flowers the groundskeeper planted. Spring brought the blooming of tulips, roses, carnations, and many other flowers that spread around the garden.

I take my time walking up to the door to smell the scents given off by the flowers. Coming closer to the door, the housekeeper opens the door for me right before I knock. "Good day to you Miss Everleigh. Quinston will be down in just a second."
