PLEASE READ!!!!!!!

I want to continue 'Through Norman's Eyes' after this, so if I finish this and start another story, pweas comment/send me an angry message saying how I promised to finish 'Through Norman's Eyes.' Thank you.

Note: the play will be written probably mostly in dialogue, and I'll try to keep it a condensed version of my full idea. On with the show!

The play has begun: Or Forever Hold Your Peace

(Main parts)

Ariana - May

David - Ruby

Will - Drew

Dad (John) - Ethan

Ariana skipped home from getting some bread from town. "Faaaaaaaather!! I'm home!!!!" She said in a sing song voice.

"Ariana, did you finish milking all of the cows before you left?" Her father questioned.

"N-no I didn't! I wasn't slacking off, I just didn't have enough time, and-" she rushed, knowing how hard managing the growing farm was, but he just put a hand to stop her.

"I don't blame you. This is getting too much for only the two of us to handle, especially with my growing old. That is why I have recently hired a farm helper. He should be here tomorrow." He said.

"No! We can handle it! We don't need any extra help!!!!" Ariana yelled suddenly growing angry.

"Ariana, stop. We have been fortunate this year, and if we really want to reap all of the profits we need someone else young and strong like you are. From what I have gotten, he is a good, honest, strong young man and a hard worker. We could really use his help, and you know that." He argued. "His name is William, and he will be here tomorrow weather you like it or not."

Ariana sighed, admitting defeat.

-----------------

Ariana returned from her morning chores to find her father sitting in the kitchen. "Will is already here, working in the south fields if you'd like to meet him."

Ariana jumped up and was out the door in seconds.

"Wait!" Her father called after her. "I have to tell you something!!" But she didn't hear him. "Eh, she'll figure it out soon enough."

---------------

Ariana found the boy whom she assumed to be Will. "Hi!" She said cheerfully. "I brought you some water if you'd like it!"

The boy said nothing, but took a few small sips of water before turning back to his work.

She placed her hands on her hips. "No thank you? No hello?" The boy shrugged but returned to his work. "Hmph." She said hands on her hips before turning to go do more of the work around the farm.

---------------

"Impolite little... Thing. Not even a hello." She muttered, gathering the eggs. Her father walked in with a bag of feed. "I take it you've already met Will?" He asked, observing her mood.

"If you mean that impolite little boy," she growled, "then yes, I've met him."

"Let me guess. He didn't really respond?" He guessed. "How'd you know?"

Her father gave a small smile. "He couldn't."

"Huh?"

"He's mute, meaning he can't speak. Wolf killed both of his parents when he was very little, and he hasn't spoken since. Most likely his vocal cords got messed up, but I guess it's possible that he just chooses not to. Either way, you're not hearing a word from him."

"Oh... I was kind of mean to him then... I should probably apologize next time that I bring him water..."

-----------------------

-2 months later-

"Morning Will!!" Ariana cried happily. He smiled and waved. "I have lunch!!!!" They spread out the small blanket and pulled out the food, Ariana chatting more than enough for the two of them.

After the food was finished, Ariana turned to head up to the house, but Will stopped her.

"Huh?" He gently handed her a delicate red rose. "Thanks." She said, sniffing it. He smiled and returned back to his work

The whole interaction made it obvious that they had fallen for each other. Hard.

"Ariana... I have something I need to tell you." Were the first words she heard upon entering her house.

May as Ariana slid into the seat beside her 'dad'.

"What is it father? Do you need me to run another errand? I could go down to the bakery to get some fresh bread, or-"

"That's not it. As you know our farm has been doing well lately. I'm sure you've heard of the Marshtomps?"

"How could I not? They are only the only the richest and most successful farmers in town!"

"Well, you see, their only son and heir to the farm David has taken an interest in you. You are to be his wife."

"WHAT!?!?!?" Ariana exclaimed. "Father?!?! How could you do this to me?!?!"

He sighed. "I'm sorry Ariana, but I want to make sure that you're in good hands. David is a smart and hansom young man. He won't let you go hungry. Well, at first you would only start out as his girlfriend."

"F-father..."

"Don't worry, you can still stay here for the time being, but you are to marry him. There is nothing that you can say or do to stop it."

"How could you..."

"I'm sorry, but I have no son. I am growing older quicker every day. There will be a day when I can not provide for you. David can take care of you and make sure you are safe."

"I-I understand, father."

Meh, the shortened version of my idea for the play isn't as good as I hoped. *shrugs* oh well.
