As Zeb fled, Ario glanced over at the boy. "Are you going to sit there all night? Hurry up and come inside," she spoke to him in a familiar tone. Still quaking in fear, he timidly entered the hotel room.
"You can drop the act already, Seere."
The tension fell instantly from the boy called Seere's face as he let out a sigh and lit up with a carefree smile. "Thanks for saving me, Ario! As a token of my gratitude, I'll let you stay with me all night long," Seere cooed in a mock-seductive voice and leaned towards her.
"What are you talking about?! Stop joking around!" Ario couldn't hide her bewilderment at the sudden change in Seere's attitude.
"Who said I was joking?" Seere moved his face closer to Ario's, winking suggestively. Ario was red all the way up to her ears with embarrassment. She looked away, fuming silently. "Hey, Ario. Is it okay if I go back to normal?"
"Do whatever you want!" Ario snapped, still blushing intensely.
"This human form is so cramped," muttered Seere. He snapped the chain collar between his fingers like a twig and pulled it from his neck. The entire room started to rattle and creak; when the shaking subsided, an inhuman being with jet black wings and sharp horns growing from his forehead was standing in front of Ario. Ario was already well acquainted with this appearance. She patted him on the head in resignation.
This mysterious child... Seere Aducurius Junior.
Seere really was the son of a noble, just as Zeb had said. But while a noble is a noble no matter where they're from, Seere was a noble from the demon world. To put it in different terms, Seere was a demon lord. Possessing intellect and power immeasurable by human comprehension, Seere followed Ario like a shadow. He had been traveling with Ario and Aria for some time now and had entered Vinea ahead of them in his previous disguise.
"Ario... There's an unnatural black aura lingering in this city as well. It seems to be coming from a club called Neo Casablanca. It's run by that guy he mentioned earlier, Don Nicolas."
"A club, huh... Interesting." Ario smiled menacingly.
"Ario," Aria, who had remained silent until now, approached her. "I know it sounds promising, but..." Aria leaned in close to Ario's cheek and whispered, "those who collect the pieces of the world will inevitably be caught up in the events surrounding them. Please, be careful," she said, smiling softly.
"I will... Sister."
