Before you read I just want to say, this is two days late and I sincerely apologize for that! I also switch between 1st POV and 3rd POV quite a lot in my writing. I am trying to improve on that!

YUNGBLUD, Halsey- 11 Minutes

11 minutes. 11 minutes away from the hospital. I had 11 minutes to get there.

My breathing picked up its pace, my hands clutching the steering wheel, my knuckles turning white. My face pale as sweat rolled down my face.

"11 Minutes...come on Nick pick up your pace." I mumbled, pressing harder on the gas as my car sped on the road. (Don't speed-)

I paced around the living room, clutching my phone as the light lit up the dark room. I've been calling Karl for the past 20 minutes and he has not once answered his phone calls or texts.

He always answers, and that's when Nick knew something was wrong. After a few more minutes of relentless calling and texting, he got a phone call from an unknown number.

Well, the number wasn't saved in his contacts, but he knew the number. It was the hospital. Karl got in a car crash. They were trying to save him but the results kept coming out in hopeless efforts. He wasn't going to survive. And, his estimated time was 11 minutes before he passed.

Nick had 11 minutes to reach the hospital, 11 minutes to say goodbye.

Thoughts swarmed his brain, I needed to get there. I needed to make it in time. I can't afford to lose him, at least not without saying a final goodbye.

"Hang on Karl…" Tears streamed down my face as it blurred my vision. Swarming across the road.

1 minute...you have one more minute…

And, then I get a phone call from the same number earlier. A phone call that would ruin me, hurt me in ways no one could. A phone call telling me Karl has passed away.

I dropped my phone, slowly releasing the gas and pulling over to the side. The hospital just in the view. My mind became hazy, my breathing coming out ragged as I tried to process what I had just heard.

I could hear the talking from the phone, trying to tell me something else. But, I didn't pay attention, I didn't pay attention to anything.

I was just 11 minutes away, I would have made it if I got 1 more minute.
