I woke up in the early afternoon with a small form curled up against me. She had her arms wrapped around my back and snored softly. I just laid there and watched her. Kills was honestly too peaceful to wake up. If you did it felt like you just kicked a puppy or even a bunny. A bunny fit her description better than a puppy so I stuck to it. I gently pulled her body up higher so her forehead lightly tapped my chin. I sat there, rubbing her back and staring into the ceiling fan. The fan sat still, everything was silent except her soft breathing. I looked down and watched her slowly rise and fall on my chest. Every time I breathed it moved her slow and lightly, but it was gentle and didn't wake her. I sighed softly and started at the ceiling again, I was comfortable but couldn't fall back asleep. I lost myself in my thoughts, breathing carefully and arms wrapped around Kills. My thoughts sometimes flooded my mind and swirled every settled thing in a tornado of frustration and chaos. Anytime I found myself lost in thought, I'd realized I would end up in a dark place that took a while to get out of. But there I went, losing consciousness again in a matter of minutes.
I woke up again, Kills was gone, the sun was shining through the blinds and across the ceiling. I got up, slowly and heard voices downstairs. Carefully, I got up and pulled my hoodie on, stepping softly to the door and pulling it open. I slipped downstairs and peeked around the corner into the kitchen.
"He...just doesn't get enough sleep" Kills mentioned sadly.
"Well I don't know how to help you guys, he's even more emotionless than you are!" Cross responded bluntly.
"Yeah but....he needs to actually take care of himself, he's just letting himself exist! I had to make him eat lunch yesterday!" She explained.
"You can't force him to take care of himself Kills, it's his choice if he wants to feel better or slip further into insanity" Cross sighed.
She pouted a little and fiddled with her hoodie strings, she did it when she got thoughtful or nervous. Cross tilted his head and his hood shifted with it.
"I check on everyone in the mornings Kills, I know you helped him fall asleep last night and then continued to stay with him. If anyone's going to help him, it's you." He told her sternly.
She nodded a little and sipped some water. I was surprised that she was actually drinking anything without me nagging her for it. Unless Cross had done it for me. I came around the corner and yawned softly, causing them both to snap their attention to me. I sighed a little, I never liked being the center of attention. I waved a little and glanced out the window, yawning again.
"Mornin Killer" Cross mumbled.
"G-good morning Killer!" Kills said softly with a bit more enthusiasm.
"....mornin" I responded flatly.
I blinked slowly, knowing well that they knew I heard them. They were going to avoid the topic, so there was no point in trying to pry it out of them. I yawned again and shoved my hands in my pockets. I nodded a little and left the room, heading for the front door.
"Where are you going??" Cross asked confused.
"On a walk." I said.
