"Yes, yes I know. Now can I leave?", She said as she turned away from her Uncle before going out to introduce herself to everyone. "One more thing... I love you and have a good first day", she smiled kindly at her uncles moment of sincerity. Bobby had a hard exterior but even with the slightest of a conversation you realized what a softy he was on the inside. "I love you too. And thank you for letting me come on such short notice. I'll try to find my own apartment as soon as I get myself settled in", "don't worry about it, you can stay with me and Athena as long as you need, Harry and May love you", I felt like when I first moved in they didn't want me there. Like I was some kind of burden on them, it was nice to hear that the they didn't mind my sudden appearance. "Thanks Bobby, I'll see you in a bit"

I began to walk out of his office when he got up out of his office chair and followed me out into the white painted fire station, looking down on the other firefighters and fire engines. "Okay guys listen up.", He paused to make sure everyone could hear and see them before he carried on. "We've got a new addition to the team. She's a been a firefighter for four years and has been my niece for 23, I expect you all to find room in your day to welcome her to the 118. So without anymore talking this is Lauren.", I waved nervously, because I didn't have any other words ready to say. I was caught off guard by Bobby's introduction and couldn't think of anything to say. "Hi, it'll be really cool getting to know all of you...", I scanned my eyes across the group of people standing below the dining area where myself and Bobby stood, I spotted a guy with blonde hair and a mark over his left eye, I wondered if he had been in a bar fight he seemed like the type, either way he was cute. There was no denying it.

The bell went and everyone ran to the truck to get their gear on and drive to the scene. I wasn't sure where to sit in the engine, I didn't want to steal anyone's spot but I needed somewhere to sit. I gave the seats a quick once over to see if there was an open spot and sat across from the guy I had laid my eyes on minutes before, she didn't know his name so she was hoping he would start a conversation. "So what do they call you?", He said without hesitation. "What do you mean? Like my name?", I replied, I was unsure what he meant but I was relieved he was talking to me instead of me having to start the conversation. "Like your nickname", "uhhh everyone just calls me Lauren", he looked taken aback "you mean to tell me you don't have a nickname? What about your last name?". "My friends used to call me Andy" He nodded his head slowly while tapping his foot "Andy... I like that.", He paused and then spoke again, "so Andy, what was growing up around Bobby like? Lots of lectures and life lessons being taught?" He says loud enough for Cap to hear. "Dude I think you're the only one who needs the lectures and speeches from Cap" Howie chimed in making fun of him to which he didn't seem impressed. The blonde had a certain glint in his eyes that told me he liked making jokes... especially at Bobby's expense. "Not too bad actually, I guess it was what I needed though. He taught me the life lessons and my dad taught me how to smuggle things across state lines" I laughed at the thought that it was all he ever actually taught me. "ya without this guy who knows who 'Andy' would've been." Evan seemed intrigued by what I had said, I liked the thought that I could interest him. "So Evan-" "Buck" I was cut off by Evan, "I'm sorry what?" I said kind of looking around at the others. "Buck. Everyone just calls me Buck.. my name is Evan but people usually call me Buck, like how Henrietta is Hen, Bobby is Cap, and Howie is Chimney. And, even after my best effort's, Eddie is still Eddie" My lip curled into a slight smile at the thought that him giving me a nickname made me a part of the group, it made me feel like I belonged with them. "Why Chimney though?" "He won't tell us, I'm pretty sure only Hen knows but it's fine... we'll have plenty of time to have our own inside jokes they won't know about." He said with a swift, almost flirty tone. I wasn't sure what to do about it so I just nodded, by then we were at the scene.
