Fairy Tail: Space Between Lives

Chapter 4

Sigma's P.O.V

I told my mum and sister (Stewart's mum and sister) that I was gonna stay at my friends house for a couple of nights when really I'm away on this mission with the team. I like going on jobs with them, I wish I could do it all the time. I also get to spend time with my little sis Wendy, it's not the same kind of hanging out with her when we're on a job with the team but it's still fun. 

We reach Crocus and head for the royal palace, The job paper didn't really go into much detail of what we're doing on this job other than the Princess needed our team specifically.  While all of us are walking through this beautiful city, everyone is enjoying the sights except I was in my own mind. I had a few questions going through my mind about this job. Why are we being summoned to the capital of Fiore? Why our team? Also why did the princess want me on this job as well? I'm sure what ever this job is, she should know that the team is more than capable of handling it without me.

Erza: Hey Sigma, are you ok?

Erza's question startled me and brought me back out to reality

Sigma: Uh yeah, yeah I'm fine Erza. Just thinking 

Erza: Oh ok 

Wendy turns to face Erza and me while walking backwards. She starts waving at us 

Wendy: Come on you 2, we're almost at the palace

Sigma: Careful sis or you're gonna fall on your arse

Wendy: Shut up brother, no I wo...

And as I expected, dear old little sister fell backwards on her arse. I was a bit concerned but I was also trying to hold back my laughter. Not to mention the temptation to say "I told you so" 

Carla: You need to be more careful child. Are you ok?

Wendy: Yeah I'm fine, just hurt my but a bit

Sigma: Ha

Wendy: Shut up 

We to get the palace and saw Arcadios at the entrance 

Arcadios: Welcome to the royal palace, members of Fairy Tail. We were told that you would be coming, I assume it is for the job request that we sent your guild

Gray: Good to see you again long nose 

Erza: GRAY!

Arcadios: It is ok Titania, it is good to see you too ice boy

Natsu: Hahaha 

Gray: Shut it pyro

Natsu: I will kick your ass if you say that again

Lucy: And here we go again

Sigma: Arcadios, can you take us to the princess please? Before I beat the hell out of those 2

Arcadios: Of course. Please follow me wizards, I will take you to her majesty

So after Erza quickly stopped Natsu and Gray fighting, Arcadios took us to the main hall inside the palace. There we saw the king of Fiore, Toma E. Fiore sitting on his throne which in my opinion, his throne is too big for him but I'll keep that thought to myself. Next to him sitting on a smaller throne is his daughter and the princess of Fiore, Hisui E. Fiore. Hopefully I'll get the chance at some point during this job to have a conversation with her. It has been quite a while since we've had a chance to sit down and have a chat, also I want to ask her why she wanted me on this job. 

Toma: I'm glad to see you all, thank you for coming Fairy Tail wizards. How is Master Makarov keeping these days?

Erza: He is doing well you majesty, I will let him know you were asking for him

Hisui: I'm happy to see everyone again, first things first. I want to thank you for taking my request, I know with all you being here I will be safe 

Lucy: It's good to see you too princess

Sigma: Forgive my rudeness your majesty but would you mind telling us what this job is

Carla: Sigma have patience. I'm sure they will explain in time

Toma: Haha don't worry, we are about to get to that. I was just getting the pleasantries out of the way my friends

Hisui: The reason I have asked for your help is nothing more than to keep me safe as well as keep me company.

Ok I know I should listen until she is finished but what the actual fuck. She really had to ask for the entire team when it's just bodyguard work. Not gonna lie, I'm a bit pissed 

Wendy: Sorry your majesty but could you elaborate on that?

Hisui: Of course Wendy. I have to attend an important meeting tomorrow afternoon in a town called Malba City. The mayor of that town has asked to discuss some important matters with me in regards to the surrounding area of his city. I had no issue with discussing the matters with him but I would've liked to do it by letters. However father suggested that I go there to speak in person but as long as I have an escort to the city, which leads to the request to your guild.

Happy: Excuse me Princess but why don't you just have Arcadios join you? Or if it had be a magic guild, Sabertooth is in this town as well. 

Hisui: Well if I had to be honest, I really wanted to see you guys again and spend time with you all. Also Arcadios has duties to fulfil here in the palace

I don't know if the others noticed it but when Hisui said that, she gave me a subtle look. Hmm I wonder what that was about? Now that we know what this job entails, we start to figure out how to get there and how long the travel is going to be

Sigma: Ok so it'll take about 10 hours to get there, the meeting is in the afternoon so it's best we leave later on tonight. I suggest using a carriage to get there, It'll help us make good time 

Of course, the first mention of carriage and Natsu is away to puke on the bloody floor of the palace. However I have an idea so that he won't complain about his motion sickness and so that all basses are covered in case of an attack.

Natsu: Can't we just walk there?

Lucy: Were you even listening Natsu? It's gonna take us almost half a day to get there

Sigma: Don't worry Natsu, I have an idea.

Hisui: Oh you do, do you? Would you mind telling us this idea

Sigma: Before that I need to ask you something Princess, do you need to take any extra luggage? I need to know if we need to take more than 1 carriage

Hisui: I don't need anything extra so 1 carriage should be enough

Sigma: Ok so here is the plan. The princess, Lucy, Wendy, Happy and Carla will be inside the carriage, Gray will be at the front of the carriage with the carriage driver. Smoke is gonna be up top in his small dragon form keeping an eye out for any danger. Natsu, Erza and myself will be on horses. Natsu covering the rear, Erza covering the left of the carriage and I'll be covering the right. Does that work for everyone?

Erza: It covers all basses and if we get attacked, we will be able to see it and have enough time to react. It's a good plan Sigma. What are your thoughts about this Princess? 

Hisui: I'm fine with it, I get the protection and company that I asked for. So thank you Sigma

Sigma: No problem princess, now that we have everything sorted. Everyone go get some rest, we'll leave in a few hours. Arcadios, can you please help me get everything together?

Arcadios: Of course, this way Sigma

And with that, everyone went to get some rest while Sigma and Arcadios got the carriage and other stuff set up for the long journey that was about to take place.
