One day, around Christmastime, Sadie and the Golden Trio were out walking with Hagrid on the grounds. Sadie, Hermione, and Ron were speculating on Harry's cursed broomstick.

"Nonsense," Hagrid tried for the third time. "Why would Quirrell, of all people, put a curse on Harry's broomstick?"

"Who knows? Why'd he let that troll in so he could get past that three headed dog on Halloween? People don't faint forwards, you know." Sadie shot back. Harry had told her what had happened, and she knew something had to be wrong. She just hadn't had the chance to bring it up with her mum or dad yet.

"Who told you about Fluffy?" Hagrid asked, giving the foursome a suspicious look.

Hermione quickly changed the subject to see what he knew. "That thing has a name?"

Hagrid looked almost offended. "O' course he's got a name. He's mine! I bought him off an Irish fella I met in the pub last year. Then, I lent him to Dumbledore to guard the..."

Very stupidly, Ron said "Yes?"

Hagrid huffed in annoyance at his slip up. "No more questions. Don't ask any more questions! What that dog is guarding is strictly between Professor Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel."

Sadie gasped. "You're kidding," she exclaimed, her eyes going wide. She looked at the three whispering amongst themselves and lowered her voice. "In the school?!"

Hagrid let out a few expletives that, had Minerva been around and had he been a student, would have landed him in detention for at least a month. "Alrigh', now listen up, all four o' yeh. Yer meddlin' in things that ought not to be meddled in. And yeh better not tell yer mother I let somethin' like that slip, Sadie, yeh hear?"

Unfortunately for him, the four were already rushing up to the castle, probably headed straight for the Transfigurations Professor's office.

"Well, I'm gonna be sacked. Might as well start packing," Hagrid sighed.

Surprisingly, the four were not, in fact, headed to Minerva's office. Sadie was going to at first, but Harry pulled her in a different direction. They were headed to the library to look up Nicholas Flamel. Well, Ron, Harry, and Hermione were. Sadie knew what it was the dog was guarding, but she decided to let them have their fun.

There was another Hogsmeade weekend, so Sadie went to her cottage to grab her mother's shawl. The shawl always seemed to help Minerva when she was worrying, and Sadie had a feeling she'd be needing that shawl a lot in the next few weeks.

Over the next week, the twins, Ron, and Percy got letters informing them that Molly and Arthur would be going to visit Charlie in Romania, and that they were to stay at the castle for Christmas.

Sadie and Cedric were watching Ron beating Harry to a pulp during a game of intense Wizards Chess in the Great Hall. Hermione walked up to them in the middle of the game.

Harry was thinking hard. "Hmm, pawn to C3." Sadie grimaced, seeing Harry's mistake.

Ron grinned, having seen it too. "Queen to C3." A triumphant smirk came over his face as the queen smashed the pawn and dragged it off the board.

"That's totally barbaric!" Hermione exclaimed, having watched the violent exchange.

"That's wizards chess," Sadie declared.
