Chapter Eight

Bakugo's POV
I wasn't really expecting Kami to agree to dating me but I was glad he did. I give him a long hug. I am going to protect this boy with all of my life no matter the cost. I need to find a way to get Denki's parents in jail for child abuse so that way he doesn't have to live in fear anymore. He also said that I was the only one that he told about his past. I'm surprised that he didn't say anything to Jiro while they were dating. That made me even more happy that he trusted me with this.

As I am hugging Denki, I think about ways to prevent him from going back to his parents and then one idea comes to mind.

"Kami would you like to stay with us to stay away from your parents?" I said while leaning back a little bit to look at Kami waiting for the answer.

"If it means I never have to see my parents again, then yes." Kami said. Kami looked at me for a bit and smiled

"I will talk to my mom about that then. Are you okay if I tell her what is going on so that way she knows why you are staying here?" I asked Kami while looking back at him.

He starts to get this scared look on his face and I begin to worry.

"It's fine Kami. I won't force this on you but if you want to be able to stay here, I am going to have to tell her. By the way she helped me patch you up last night when I brought you here. But it's up to you." I said as I pulled him into a hug to calm him down.

"I-I-It's f-f-fine. As long as no one else knows about it besides your family, I will feel safe. I just want to stay away from my parents." Kami says, still shaking.

"Okay. As long as you are okay with it. And don't worry. Your parents aren't going to get to you." I say with a calming voice. I could feel Kami starting to calm down.

I look at the time and it's 7:30am. School starts at 8am and it takes five minutes from my house to get there. I gently tap Kami not to startle him.

"Hey Kami, we need to get ready for school. I will make breakfast while you get ready really quick. Okay?" I say.

Kami just slowly nods and slowly starts to get up. As he goes to step he loses his balance and starts falling but I end up catching him.

"Are you okay? If you want we don't have to go to school today so you can rest and I will stay here with you to make sure that you feel safe. It's up to you." I said to Kami.

"I'm fine, just a little weak. Don't have much energy plus I haven't eaten hardly anything for a few months but other than that, nothing out of the ordinary. We can still go to school. I don't want people to get suspicious and come and ask why we weren't at school." Kami said trying to get back up. "I really don't want to be asked a bunch of questions right now. When you go to school, can you help me try and avoid Jiro and Momo?" Kami asks me.

"Sure anything for you. We better get going then if you are okay with going to school." I said to Kami helping him to a room to get changed. "We can talk to my mom about what is going on after school so we aren't late."

"Okay. Can you stay close to me today as much as possible?" Kami asked, still a bit scared and shaken up, while he was changing.

"Whatever you want Kami. I will always protect you." I said on the other side of the door changed.

"I'm going to go make breakfast really quick. I will be right back Kami." I said

"Okay" Kami replied.
