" Here Phoebe! Look at this." Phoebe's and Eren's heads both turned at Armin's exclamation.

Mikasa, Eren and Phoebe were all sitting on the field since it was break and they'd had some time left after afternoon lessons.

Phoebe had sat with her legs crossed, Mikasa was kneeled down, and Eren had his feet out and both of his arms laid down on the ground.

Armin ran up to the group with a beaten-up book in his hand. He sat down next to Mikasa, and across from Phoebe and Eren.

" What is that?" Phoebe says gesturing to the book. Eren and Mikasa glanced at the book, and instantly knew what the book was.

" it's a book about the outside. Beyond the walls." Armin answered while placing the book down on the ground.

" Armin always brought that book anywhere he went. I remember back in ." Mikasa says, remembering her moment. She continued to stuff her red scarf around her neck.

Phoebe took one look at the flimsy book and raised an eye. " A book about the outside. Howdya even know that's it's true? Actually, I'll do myself one better. How'd you even get your hands on one of those books. Aren't they like illegal or something?"

" It's my grandfather's. Just look in the book Phoebe, some pages are torn or have water damaged, but it's enough to see how mesmerizing the world really is outside of the walls."

Armin pushed the books towards Phoebe. She only sighed saying, " Okay." Phoebe passed the damaged pages that were unable to be recognized and instead looked at the first picture she could see.

Phoebe had looked back up to her friends who had all gradually gone near her to see the pages along with her. She points to the picture with the huge body of water with the unresting horizon.

" What is that?" Phoebe couldn't help but be curious about that drawing. Although it was only color plastered onto a book, it was still beautiful. Was this what was really beyond the walls?

" Oh that's the ocean. It is way bigger than a river and is said to have tons of salt," Eren informed Phoebe. Phoebe turns her head to Eren in interest. Her eyes wide in surprise and asked, "Really? The ocean has water with salt?"

Eren foolishly leaned back into his original position and said, " Yup. In fact, there is so much that not even merchants can collect all of it."

What.. for some reason, Phoebe wanted to see for herself. She wanted to see what everlasting water looked like. She wanted to see Merchants attempt to collect all of the salt. All of that brought an interest to her. She wants to see everything.

" Eren, Mikasa and I plan to see the ocean together. You can come with us. All four of us together." Armin exclaimed. Phoebe continued to flip the pages of the book that was near to an end.

" Yeah... I would like that."

For the first time in her life Phoebe felt like she had a purpose. She wanted to see the ocean. She has to try. This world was for us to tour, not for us to hide beneath ours while the titans roam freely as they please.

First step in accomplishing this: survive

Phoebe was seated across from Krista and Ymir at the HQ Mess Hall. After two years of hard work, they were finally back in the town of Trost for training. They were doing emergency drills to prepare them for another titan breach.

" Are you going to visit your mom?" Krista asked Phoebe. Phoebe hadn't actually known if she was going to visit her mom. She didn't think she would have too, but what did she expect? This was the only day they would reunite.
