 " I have to live my life. Care for your sister."

"I'm sorry Mina but we can't rest. We are fully exposed."

"I'm sorry Aapeli. If we are to die here, then at least I get to do it by your side."

" Phoebe wake up!"

Phoebe wheezed and lifted her chin. Phoebe panicked while a string of blood escaped her nose. Phoebe's vision was obscure but from what she could see, it was Annie. Annie removed her hands from Phoebe's shoulders from her one leg kneel position.

" She's awake."

Phoebe curled herself up in a ball. What had happened? Who was Aapeli? Mira.. Phoebe's mom. Why did she hear her voice?

" Phoebe, are you okay? What do you remember?" Phoebe lifted her head from her curled position to see Armin. She tilted her head and then looked beyond seeing that they were on a roof.

Phoebe's memory had come back to her. " The Colossal it was here!" Phoebe cried. " It came from nowhere."

Phoebe's voice had cracks. Out of all the people, you'd think that Phoebe would be calm through the situation. But she had streams of tears run down her cheeks and would eventually intersect with that one stream of blood that fell from her nose.

" I should be dead. The last thing I remembered was me getting hit by the steam's impact. I don't even know how that managed to take me out, but it did." Phoebe had eventually calmed down and looked back to her comrades. They held a static face containing all different kinds of emotions.

Melancholy, depressed, deadpan, terror, consternation; and that was only for the first handful of people that she could lay her eyes on. Her eyes locked with Armin's eyes that were soft and puffy. She could tell that he'd been crying.

Mikasa kneeled with one knee in front of the brunette. " The colossal titan is gone, but the titans have breached into Trost. I don't know how you're alive but we could really use your help."

Phoebe's tears had stopped and her face became static calm. She used her sleeve to wipe off the remaining tears and blood.

" How long have I been unconscious?" Phoebe asked abruptly. She released herself from the self hug and looked back to Armin.

" Since the titans breached, which was at least 2 hours ago. Mina was with you." Sasha answered. Phoebe scanned at every cadet again, looking for Mina. "Where is she now?"

Armin released a sorrowful gasp which Phoebe immediately noticed. It can't be... " Mina...Thomas... Eren. They had all sacrificed their lives in honor which will be remembered."

Eren... everyone. Why was Phoebe still here? Why hadn't she taken the fall? Why.. Why was Phoebe the one that survived? Phoebe released one final tear and said, " That's unfortunate."

That word was enough to make several people mad but Phoebe didn't care. Instead she managed to stand up and look at the damage that was done. " Unfortunate?! That's all you have to say?!" Connie walked towards Phoebe.

" What else is there to say... The titan had managed to breach the wall, again. I shouldn't be alive right now, so I'm willing to sacrifice myself" Phoebe deadpanned Connie who only grunted and walked away.

" Listen here, sleeping beauty." Phoebe's eyes darted to Jean's. " We've already gotten enough death wishes and sacrificial shit, so we don't need more of 'em coming from you." Phoebe's eyes were dead. Jean could tell.

It was deader than the rotting corpses on the streets. How did hope vanish like that. She was like an entirely different person.
