General TW: firearms, blood, etc.
Sapnap raced through the chaos in the crowded halls of Manburg. It was too full of people running around and yelling, but he didn't have time for that. For all he knew, Dream could be dying. He wasn't a doctor by any means, but what he had seen- Dream was severely injured.
He raced past the lunch hall, running into someone, most likely Tommy by the height of him, but ignored it. He ran to the training hall and flung open the weapons closet. He threw everything out of the way and scrambled to grab a replacement firearm for the one he'd lost in Pogtopia.
As he loaded the magazine, George ran in the room, breathing heavily. "George, what are you doing? They need you out there-"
"Sapnap, please. Is Dream going to be okay?" He asked, voice shaking.
"I-I don't know," sapnap said, his voice equally concerned. He looked at George and took a deep breath. "They need you, George. Go help."
He grabbed George's hand and shook it. George nodded and left.
Sapnap needed to sit down but he knew he couldn't. His arms were heavy with the weight of the firearm he held and he walked back into the hallway. He was met by two dark eyes and a wave of nervousness fell over his body as Schlatt pushed him back into the room.
He frowned, eyes serious. "Sapnap, we need to leave. This place isn't safe anymore. We have to leave Dream behind."
Sapnap stopped and stared. "Sir-"
"You can stay, but if you do, I will find you again and kill you. Sapnap, I know you are loyal to Dream, but you have always been more loyal to our cause and your troops. I know that you will choose the right decision."
With that, Schlatt left again, leaving Sapnap to take in the ultimatum he'd just been delivered. He couldn't leave his friend to die...but Schlatt said it himself. He was going to die if he stayed and likely so would Dream.
Maybe...
"George," Sapnap called, pushing through the crowd. "George, come here." He whispered, grabbing the Brit's arm and pulling him into an empty room. "Stay."
"What? Stay...where?"
Sapnap explained what Schlatt had told him and George raised his eyebrows. "You should stay, and watch after Dream."
"But...Schlatt will kill me! And Dream."
"No, he won't. I can't tell you why, but Schlatt can't kill you. It's the safest option for Dream, and I can stay on your side. I promise, this is the easiest and best option for our survival. I can go with Schlatt and then I'll escape. After that...I'll stick to finding a way to contact you and go into hiding."
George leaned against the empty desk in the room and sighed. "Then what?"
"Then we kill Schlatt."
Sapnap went with the troops and Schlatt, leaving George behind with Dream. Schlatt didn't have anything to say about it and allowed them to stay behind. He meant to leave Dream anyway.
Their first stop was Pogtopia, but upon their arrival, the place was found completely empty, just as it had been when Sapnap had rescued Dream. "Tommy," Sapnap motioned at the office across from where he had first found his friend, "come with me." He and Tommy walked into the office, finding no clues towards where the Pogtopians had taken off to. He did however, notice something off about the bookshelf on the far wall. "Thanks, go with the rest. I'll catch up eventually."
Tommy left and Sapnap moved closer to the bookshelf. Along the middle row was a book, slightly pushed further in than the rest. He pulled it back and heard a series of clicks. Then, the bookshelf popped open like a door. He didn't have time to explore what was in the hall behind the shelves, but he pushed it back in place and took note of his route back to the rest of the troops.
