The Competition

"You can admit it now." Amanda said. "What?" Jake asked. "You can admit that you looooove Hailey." She laughed. "Amanda! I-I don't!" Jake said, turning red. "Oooh! You bluuuuushhhhedddd!" Amanda teased. "Amanda!" Their mom sharply said. "Fiiiiiiiine." Amanda groaned. "But what's so special about this competition?" She asked. "Very important." Jake informed her. "Sure whatevs." Amanda said, playing with a kitten.

It's finally here! The day that the Music band will be noticed! Jake thought. He rushed to the music room, only to find a sobbing Hailey. "W-what's wrong?" Jake asked. No one answered. "WHAT'S WRONG?!" Jake repeated. Hailey held up strips of paper. "Hey...isn't that our music sheets?" Jake asked. "Yes...Drew, Liam, Henry, Lia, and Zoey ripped up all the music sheets!" Hailey cried. Jake's hand curled into fists. He quickly grabbed a sheet of paper and began writing. Luckily, he practiced everyone's part a lot for fun. She handed it out the sheets to the musicians. "Wow...Thanks." Milly said. "No problem." Jake said. "Next up, The Music Freaks!" The announcer said. Nervously, they went up to the stage. Drew, Liam, Henry, Lia, and Zoey were sitting in the front row, smirking. Jake bit his lips as he gripped the mic. He already memorized his song. Everyone got ready and Hailey nodded at Luke. He hit his drumming sticks 3 times, launching Milly, Sean, and Zander for the intro.

Hailey and Jake started singing. They could rarely hear Hailey sing but it was such an important event. Jake could see the other competitors looking sort of defeated. Soon, Jake had his small solo part. Then Hailey had hers. After they went, everyone in the crowd cheered loudly. The Music Freaks beamed as they bowed. They left the stage. "That was AMAZING everyone!" Hailey cheered. "Yeah!" Jake excitedly said. "I hope we win." Milly said. DLH (Drew, Liam, Henry) stalked closer. "C'mon Jake." Drew said, pulling Jake away. "Wha-wait! Drew!" Jake slipped away. "What?" Liam asked. "I just...want to see if we won..." Jake said. "Why? You only did this so Daisy would like you." Henry snorted. "Wait what?" Zander asked. "Yeah. Didn't you know?" Henry snickered. "And besides." Zoey said. Lia was trailing behind her. "You don't wanna be with the Pink-Haired-Devil."

"Hold it in." Sean quickly whispered to Milly. "Excuse me. Unless you are competitors, you are not allowed in the back stage." A worker said. "Ugh. fine." Lia said, dragging Zoey away. "C'mon Drew. We'll pick him up later." Liam said, leading Henry and Drew away. "Is that true? You only joined because of Daisy?" Zander asked. "Calm down Zander." Luke said. "And here I thought you were actually one of us." Zander shot at Jake. "I am! I'm just..."

"We'll talk about this later." Milly jumped in. "We still have to wait for the results!"

Jake shifted and sat down in a chair. Zander was glaring at Jake, Luke trying to comfort him, Hailey fidgeting and glancing at Jake, Milly just stealing glances at Elliot who was passing by to get to the water fountain. Sean was just looking at Daisy.

"Everyone please come up to the stage"
Everyone (including other competitors)immediately stood up and lined up on the stage. Jake nervously tugged his hair. "THE MUSIC FREAKS!"
