Hey guys so I have a ton of school work to do so this is another short one, sorry. Anyways I hope you like it.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the arrowverse/DC/CW characters storylines or really anything to do with them. This is purely fanfiction for the enjoyment of others

"Alex!" Clark called the moment he landed in the DEO. J'onn was right behind him and landed letting Caitlin down. Winn ran over, his face pale and worried. His two best friends were Kara and James, Kara was dead and James wasn't looking good. Winn looked to Clark hoping for some reassurance but received none. Then Caitlin called out for a gurney and the DEO responded. Lena turned ghost white as she saw James in Clark's arms, he was limp and looked almost dead. Lena wanted to run forward, to see and ask for answers but instead she found herself leaning against the wall and sliding to the floor. Visions of Kara's body flashing in her mind. This could not be happening, she couldn't lose someone she cared for again. Clark carefully placed his friend down and Caitlin rushed James towards an operating room with Winn and Clark on her heels. Lena watched them go from the floor, eyes wide, frozen with fear for the worst.

"Hold on Jimmy!" Clark called as certain DEO agents told the two worried friends they couldn't follow any longer.

"Stay with us James!" Winn yelled as James disappeared from their sight. Clark and Winn weren't close but they both cared about James, he was their friend, their brother. The two of them sat down and leaned against the hallway wall, waiting for their friend or the unthinkable news. It didn't take long for J'onn to come check in, he too was fond of Mr Olsen and didn't want any harm to come to him. Putting another agent in charge while Alex helped Cisco he began to pace, waiting for James. Lena remained where she was, away from the others, she hadn't been able to move, the shock of it all stealing her strength.

Barry stepped out of the van and was greeted by DEO agents, they were concerned about his and Wally's broken bones. And despite the two's protests the DEO agents took them to get casts on. Sara and Zari were also rushed off along with Oliver, Ray, Dig and Nate. Mick stepped out and seemed to have fared the best but a few DEO agents insisted he get checked out, eventually he agreed as long as he could have a beer. It was then determined that Oliver had a concussion, Dig broke his arm in two places, Ray had some bruised and cracked ribs, while Nate had a torn arm muscle but was mostly protected by his stealed form. Mick had to get stitches for many of his cuts but he didn't really care. Once everyone had finished getting treated they met outside the medical wing. Oliver smiled at Sara and Zari seeing the colour back in their cheeks, he knew they must have had a blood transfusion and he was thankful that their blood type existed on Kara's earth. He wanted to ask if everyone was alright but he could see the worry on everyone and Barry's faces, all their thoughts were focused on Cisco and James. Iris comes running over, jumping into Barry's arms and then she hugged her brother. Barry opened his mouth to ask about his friend and teammate but Iris cut him off.

"Cisco is fine." Iris smiled and Barry along with everyone instantly relaxed. "He's in recovery." Iris' face then turns from joyful relief to worry. "But Barry..." she pauses before continuing. "James is in rough shape, he's in surgery." Barry exchanged a glance with the others and asked Iris how bad it was. "They don't know yet, Clark, Winn, and J'onn are waiting for news." Without another word everyone went to go wait with their friends, James had spent the whole fight protecting them, putting himself in danger for them. The earth-1 heroes also couldn't imagine Kara's earth losing another hero when they already had so few. Another loss so soon after Kara would be devastating and Sara knew that Alex couldn't handle much more.

As the heroes approached they saw how worried James' friends were. Winn had his head in his hands and there was a large dent in the wall which could only be from Clark's fist, J'onn was still pacing and no one looked hopeful. Barry went over and sat by Winn, putting his arm over Winn's shoulders in a sideways hug. Oliver went over to Clark and pulled him aside with Dig, they did their best to calm the kryptonian down but he was too worried to really take a breath. Everyone else gathered in a group and J'onn finally stopped pacing.

"He's going to be fine, I've seen Oliver in way worse situations and we don't even have a team of doctors like this place does." Felicity says to J'onn and he nods.

"I thought Kara was going to be fine." J'onn admits and Ray gives the martian a pitted look. "I'm not close with Olsen- James" J'onn corrects himself. "But Kara was always worried about him being Guardian, she always thought he'd get hurt, that's why she was against it. Now she's gone and her worst fear for James could come true." Nate didn't know the martian well but he brought J'onn into a hug anyways. There was a long silence as everyone waited, no one wanted to think the worst but the longer they had to wait the more likely the news wasn't good. Then the doors swing open and everyone stares as Caitlin and Alex come out. For a short moment before Alex looks up everyone holds their breath in fear for the worst. Then Alex meets Clark's eyes and smiles.
"He's fine. It was touch and go but we got the internal bleeding under control. He's in the clear Clark, he's okay." Alex says and is immediately pulled into a hug from Clark. Winn gets up and wipes tears from his cheeks and grins. The doors swing open again and a gurney comes through with an unconscious James. Winn jumps to his side along with Clark as DEO agents push James towards the med wing. J'onn relaxed and Caitlin hugged Barry. "You guys can go check on Cisco now, I'm sure he's wondering where you are." Alex suggests and everyone nods. "Wait." Alex calls stopping them in their tracks. "I know we've had a busy day, you thought you'd go to a party and then you end up in a dangerous fight and mourning a friend, but J'onn can show you where you can sleep tonight. There's two funeral's tomorrow, one for Supergirl and one for Kara Zor-El on what's left of Krypton. Barry nodded, shooting Alex an apologetic look. Then Alex limped off behind J'onn and everyone else to check on injured friends.

Alex noticed that Lena wasn't with the group and it caused her to worry. Lena and James were dating and as far as she knew it was going well. Even if it wasn't, Lena would be there for James no matter what. Walking back to where James had first been brought in Alex spots Lena, staring at nothing but her eyes were a million miles away. She's still sitting on the floor, lost in thought. Alex limps over, sitting down next to Lena and finally giving her leg a rest. Alex and Lena weren't as close as her and Kara but she knew why Lena was hurting.

"James is fine." Alex says, looking off at the same wall Lena's eyes were glued to. "He's in recovery now." Lena looks over at Alex tears in her eyes. Lena is such a strong and powerful woman, it was odd for Alex to see her seem so broken, even since Kara's death she's powered on.

"I thought he was dead." She whispers, pressing her palm to her forehead and trying to stop her tears. "He just looked dead."

"I know." Alex says, recalling the moment she found out about her friend. She was assisting some other doctors in helping Cisco and luckily he wasn't in poor condition. Alex knew that unless the most bizarre thing happened that he would definitely be fine. They were finishing up and Alex was about to go and check on the team in the field when an agent pulled her aside and told her the news. Alex didn't hesitate to go to where James was. She was already in the surgical ward and so she didn't have to go far. Alex couldn't imagine losing another friend, not now, so close to Kara. Finding out that Caitlin was in charge was a relief to Alex and she assisted the doctor from earth 1 by handing her the tools she needed. Alex wanted to do more but her dislocated shoulder made it impossible for her to help in any other way. She was terrified the whole time, she couldn't imagine how the others felt not knowing what was going on. "When I heard, I could hardly believe it. I thought we'd be burying him and Kara... but Lena," Alex's somber tone changes slightly to reassurance. "James is alright." Lena nodded, looking up again and whipping a couple tears.

"James is alright." She repeats, holding back tears. "But Kara-" She chokes and Alex looks away for a moment. "We have to go to her funerals tomorrow, not one but two." Alex nods and the two women lean on each other, Lena finally allowing herself to cry for her friend.

I'll post again soon but it might be short again, it matters how much time I have. I also have long weekend coming up so hopefully I'll be able to do a lot of writing then. Thanks for reading guys. Also there probably isn't going to be much more action so if that's what you're waiting for, sorry. It's funeral stuff next time.
