Chapter 9-We promise

Clark stayed on Argo with his aunt and his people while everyone else, including Alex, returned to earth-38. It had been a long day and the sun was low in the sky. Eliza went back to the hotel room she booked, and before anyone else could opt out Winn suggested they all meet on the roof of CatCo. After giving Barry directions, Winn dragged Alex and Lena off to get some things for the roof. Barry and the others gathered in the room where they were staying. Nate and Zari sat on one of the cots, the room was quiet.

"It was a lovely ceremony." Ray said, trying to lighten the mood like always, still, his voice was missing it's regular upbeat tone.

"Yeah, that Kryptonian prayer was beautiful." Iris adds, giving Barry a comforting side hug. "I never knew Kara had such a unique and wonderful culture."

"She never talked about it." Caitlin said.

"We never asked." Felicity pointed out.

"Look, Kara lived here and we live on a different earth, we couldn't know everything about her and frankly I think she kept a lot of her past to herself." Oliver sighs.

"Yeah, well I guess you would know." Ray joked and Sara rolled her eyes while Oliver shot him a threatening look. Barry smiled at the small moment of normal before glancing at his watch.

"It's almost time to head over to CatCo, let's throw on some jackets and get going." Barry suggests and everyone agrees. Once everyone was ready, they realized they were running late. Without asking, Barry sped them to the location one by one. Dig was brought last and everyone stared at him waiting to see if he finally got used to Barry's superspeed. Unfortunately the answer was no and John ran to the side of the building while Barry shouted an apology.

"Every time." Oliver said, sending his friend a pitied look.

Winn got Alex and Lena to pick up the rest of the stuff and found J'onn back at the DEO. Then they went to meet Alex, Lena and everyone else on the roof. When J'onn landed Winn couldn't help but smile, flying was amazing even if it wasn't with Kara. Winn felt the rush of wind before he registered Barry's lightning arriving and disappearing, but not without leaving a startled Sara behind first.

"God, Barry. Some warning would be nice." Sara said to no one in particular considering that Barry was already gone. Sara spotted Winn smiling at her comment and walked over to him and J'onn. Then another flash of light, gust of wind and someone else appears. Before long everyone was standing on the roof and feeling sorry for Dig.

"Does he have issues with superspeed or something?" Winn asked, looking between Barry and Oliver.

"Yeah, this happens every time." Barry says guilty. Then Dig takes a deep breath and Lena walks over offering him some water which he graciously takes.

"One of these days I won't puke." Dig insists, taking a sip of water while still looking a little sick. Winn raises an eyebrow at Sara who can't help but smirk. Winn waves everyone over to the otherside of the roof where Alex is drinking a beer.

"Hey, Rory!" Alex calls. "Want a beer?" Briefly a grin spreads across Mick's face as he briskly walks over to Alex taking a beer from her.

"Thanks Alex." Mick says, knocking his bottle with hers. Alex smiled slightly, Mick wasn't so bad, he cared for his team and tried to say the right thing when it counted. Everyone gathered around grabbing different types of booze that Winn had bought with Lena. They also had purchased some food, including Kara's favourite, potstickers. Soon everyone was sipping a drink or eating some food. Wally and Barry were about to grab their own beers, just to fit in when J'onn stopped them.
