A new semester had finally started at the best school in the Fire Nation, or for that matter, the world; DragonSpine High School. They excelled in education and student assistance. The first day was a nice day, with a slightly warm temperature and a soft breeze.
"Look at all the prestigious people, sis." Sokka's arm was over his sister's shoulders as he eyes everyone. Her brown hair, over his arm, matched his, but he had an undercut, and her blue eyes were brighter than his gray-toned ones.
"Get off of me," Katara muttered, rolling her shoulders away from him. "These 'prestigious' people know how to get to school on time!"
"No one shall touch you, and if they do, I fight." He grinned confidently and she rolled her eyes. "You're my little sis. I ain--" He was cut off as someone bumped into his shoulder and kept walking. "Hey!" he protested, an annoyed look on his face. "Watch it, buddy!" He rolled his eyes. "See, Katara? Jerks. Absolute jerks."
"The hallways are packed. What do you mean, jerks?" She shook her head again. "You're not even supposed to be here. The only reason you are is because Dad taught you how to use a sword."
He rolled his eyes. "Blah, blah, Katara." He looked forward, a stupid grin plastered across his face. "We both know I'm intelligent, too, you just don't want to admit it."
"When you want to be," Katara mumbled.
He tapped her nose with his index finger before they arrived in the Water Nation locker bay, where four rows of lockers stood, each with a different grade level on a plaque above them. "Now, my locker..." He trailed off, then let out a happy chirp. "My locker!" he announced, jogging away.

Dai was walking through the hall, head down, when someone shoved her against her locker. She gasped, one hand moving to her back where the handle had jabbed her, and glared after the person. "What's wrong, little minnow?"
It was Azula, of course. Both girls came from prestigious families, as well as their siblings, but Dai had never met Zuko, only seen him, and Yue...
Dai glared at Azula, using an arm to push her hair out of her face. "Screw off, brainless fire fuck," she responded, her blue eyes glaring. Azula cackled and walked off, bouncing a flame between her hands, Zuko and the rest of her posse following her. Dai rolled her eyes and headed off to her locker. She glanced over as a couple girls made a face and backed away from the senior row of lockers. The stupid Southern Water Tribe boy she had to room with. Another girl came next to her locker; the stupid boy's smart sister. Dai raised an eyebrow as she turned.
"Hey!" the girl called. She bit her lip nervously, then glanced over at the boy. "Oh... Yeah, that's Sokka for you. Just avoid him. What class do you have first?"
Dai blinked, glancing down at her phone's lock screen. "Uh... literature?" She shook her head. She'd been going here since freshmen year; she had been invited, since her father was the Water Nation Chief, but she had insisted on taking the essays still, passing with a perfect score.
Katara smiled. "Cool hair job. I don't think I mentioned that yet," she said. "I have math first." She wrinkled her nose.
Dai bit her lip. "Uh, it's not..." She trailed off, winding her hair around her finger. "Right. See you later then." She walked away, passing another Water Nation girl in the same row of lockers.
The girl had a harsh jaw line and wore a longsleeved dark blue Nike shirt over a collared white shirt with long sleeves along with a pleated Nike skirt. She turned and glanced at Dai, her dark blue eyes hardening. "Dai."
Dai's features softened and she stopped walking, a slight frown on her face. "Hana. How... How are you?"
Hana scoffed slightly, looking away and shutting her locker, where a weapons bag was shoved inside. Hana had gotten in for her skills throwing knives and ninja stars, as she wasn't a bender. After a moment, she turned back to Dai. "I'm not going to stop for you."
"You reek of weed," Dai responded. "The teachers will notice." She took a breath. "Please, Hana. After Yue I... I need you to try. I need you."
Hana whipped toward her, slamming her locker. "I'm not gonna stop living my life because your sister died. If you can't get over that, then you should just accept that freshman year is over. We're different people now. Grow up."

Zuko followed Azula, wincing. "Why are you such a bitch to her?" he muttered.
Azula laughed again. "She's clearly weak now that her sister died. We'd better toughen her up." Zuko shook his head, stopping at his locker.
A girl with black hair and blue-green eyes stood at the locker next to his, spinning her lock. "Are you serious?" she muttered, looking annoyed. Zuko glanced at her, then back at his locker as he opened it, sliding his bag into it and grabbing some books. The girl glared at her own locker, then hit it. It snapped open and smacked her in the forehead. She rubbed her forehead, pouting and taking a few deep breaths. Zuko leaned forward so his locker door hid his face, trying not to laugh, before abruptly grabbing his books and walking away.
