— and I know we weren't perfect
but I've never felt this way for no one,
And I just can't imagine how you could be so okay,
now that I'm gone.

"Oh. Hey." Sam whispered. We were both avoiding eye contact, I could tell.

When his eyeline landed on my dress, I could tell the memories flooded back to him. He gulped and rubbed his forearm. "You're wearing this...dress."

"Yeah." I muttered back.

I swerved past him and ran down the stairs. He paused and then ran after me. "Y/n, y/n wait!" he yelled. I ignored him, running to the backyard.

I looked up at the sky, tears falling faster than I could wipe away. Sam caught up to me and sighed. "Y/n, I'm sorry."

I was enraged. "YOU THINK 'SORRY' IS ENOUGH?"

"I know, I was a clingy boyfriend but you, you were so stubborn!"

"ME? THIS IS ABOUT YOU SCREWING US UP!"

"OH PLEASE Y/N, YOU WERE THE ONE WHO HAD NO FAITH IN US ANYMORE."

"SAM YOU THOUGHT I WAS CHEATING ON YOU! LIKE I'D LEAVE THE GUY I LOVED WITH ALL MY HEART FOR SOME RANDOM DUDE!?"

"YOU MADE NO EFFORT."

"YOU, BROKE UP WITH ME!"

"I DIDN'T MEAN IT!"

"YOU DID SAM THOMAS, YOU DID. YOU MEANT EVERY LAST WORD."

"That's not true." he whispered looking away from me.

"I was clingy because I didn't want to lose the best thing that ever happened to me. But I did. Nothing changes it. I'm sorry y/n."

— 'cause you didn't mean what you wrote in that song about me,
'cause you said forever now I drive alone past your street,
yeah you said forever,
now I drive alone past your street.
