"Does it seem safe?"
"What?"
"We've snuck out at one am for me to drive out for absolutely no reason, Thomas."
Sam laughed, placing his hand on mine over the gears. Just the warmth of his hand gave me butterflies all over again.
"Are we even headed somewhere?" I asked, realising all of a sudden. "No." Sam replied without missing a beat.
And we both started laughing leaning our heads in together.
Not all stories have happy endings. Some stories may end in pain, some stories may end in heartbreak.
But my story, my story ended with nothing but love and joy, and for that, I'll always be grateful.
