Detention

Penelope's Pov

Ah finally the day is almost over, I head to my final class of the day which is PE. If I was being honest with you PE was my favorite class of the day and not because It was the last class of the day. It was because Jossette Saltzman was in the class and we got to hang out the whole hour and do nothing but talk to each other. As soon as I get to the gym I get my phone out and text Jo.

Penny: hey jo I'm in our spot. meet me there? 

JoJo: of Couse penny be there in a second.

A couple minutes later I hear a cute "hey" I looked up and saw Josie, I just smiled and patted the floor next to me for her to sit next to me. She sat down next to me and our hands touched. I have held hands with Josie before. A lot of different occasions actually but this time was different. She just looked up and blushed but she kept her hand on mine. When I finally take my eyes off Josie I see my coach looking at me and he looks mad. He screams from across the gym and calls me into his office. I think I already know what this is about.

Flashback

I walk into my second period which is English. I sit next to the "it" boy. Carter Mathews, he is the guy every girl wants to date and every guy wants to be. I was ignoring him until I heard one of his friends say "Did you see little Saltzman? She got hot." I started to clinch my hands into a fist, I hear Carter say "yeah, I saw her... what's her name again Jackie?" "I don' t know dude, but I bet you ten bucks you can't get her number." Carter looks at his friend and says "I bet you 20 dollars that I will sleep with her." That's it I stood up and walked over to him and all he does is look at me and ask "What do you want park?" Carter and I use to hang out until he became a douche. I simply said " I just heard what you said about Josie Salzman and I bet you 100 bucks if you touch her or even try to talk to her I will beat your ass." Carter and his goons all stand up and look at me. "I do whatever I want and Josie will love what I do." Carter says while smirking. I swear I did not plan it, it just happened. Next thing I know was that my hand hurt and carter's nose was bleeding. I was so mad I just grabbed my stuff and left. 

Flashback over 

I see coach Easton huffing and he looked up at me and asked " so do you have any excuse on why you punched Mathews?" I take a quick glance over to Josie, "No Sir I don't." He looked at me and I could tell he was disappointed. "Look Pen you're an amazing kid with a great heart and I know that. I can't have you getting in trouble. I talked it out with your teacher and after school today you're going to have to clean the gym" I felt relived I thought he was gonna make me run. I just nod my head and walk out. I see Josie's brown eyes staring at me as i walk over to our spot, when I finally get there she looks up at me with her beautiful brown eyes and asks "what was that about Penny?" I told her what happened and she says " you stuck up for me?" It made me sad that she did not know I  would stick up for her no matter what. As were staring into each others eyes I say "Of course JoJo I would do anything for you." I hear my phone ding and I see a text from Liz

Lizard: Hey I'm riding with Jed home, I left the keys in your locker, You're taking Josie home and my mom said you can spend the night.

Penelope: Okay, can I wear your black jeans tomorrow?

Lizard: NO

I just role my eyes and Josie looks as if she is asking 'what'. I look at her and say "I am really sorry love, Liz is riding home with Jed so I have to take you home." Jo perks up when I said I was taking her home, hmm I wonder what that was about.

Finally the last bell rang and I started cleaning the gym. It was just me and Jo in that big gym. Jo and I decided if we worked together then we would be able to go home earlier, so we put on some music. One of my favorite songs Two of Us by Louis Tomlinson started playing and Josie started singing I could not help but stare at her, like wow she is so pretty. I think she noticed me staring because she started walking closer to me. Eventually we were so close we were face-to-face. I swear I just saw her eyes flicker down to my lips and my heart skipped a beat. The next thing I know is that I see her leaning in. Josie finally slams our lips together and we kiss until we can't breath. After about two minutes we pull apart and just stare into each others eyes. I was the first to speak "wow" I said. "I know" Josie said. We finally got done cleaning and got into LIzzies white jeep. I can feel Josie's eyes staring at me so I grab her hand and look at her " we don't have to talk about it just yet." "thank you" said Josie. I held her hand the entire car ride until I saw Lizzie sitting on the front porch.
