*Callen's POV*
"I shouldn't have let her go," Nell says quickly. "It's my fault. I'm so sorry."
"It's not your fault, Nell," I assure her. "You couldn't have stopped her if you tried."
"Yeah, I don't even think Hetty could stop her," Deeks says, trying to lighten the mood. I look up at him and let out a breathy laugh, shaking my head.
"We'll get her back, G," Sam says.
"I know," I say. "What do we know about the men we found at the house?"
"Well, they're Austrian," Nell says and I don't miss the look she shared with Eric.
"And?"
"And they're no strangers," Eric says, pulling up some photos.
"She killed 3 high ranking members of their gang and helped put away 5 others, including their leader," I finish, recognising the man in the photo. "He was killed in prison 6 months later. The rest were dead 2 months later."
"Who are they?" Deeks asks.
"5 years ago, we were on a mission for Hetty," I begin. "We were doing surveillance on this Austrian gang. They were suspected of drug and human trafficking, particularly children."
"They were a particularly violent group," Hetty says as she enters the room. "From memory, they also did some horrible experiments."
"On what?" Sam asks.
"The children we did find were on the brink of death," Hetty says and I close my eyes, looking down at my feet. "We could not save them."
"God that's awful," Kensi mutters.
"The members we didn't find disappeared," I say. "Until today."
"That's why Miss Callen is our highest priority," Hetty says. "I have informed all law enforcement agencies of our case. They are going to be helping as much as they can."
"Thank you," I tell her.
"Do not forget that you are not alone Mr. Callen," she says, peering at me over her glasses. "Or that you are the only one who cares for her. She has made just as many friends as she has enemies over the years."
I was aware of every hour that passed. I was also very aware of every phone call that came in. It seemed like half of Las Angles wanted to help, no strings attached. Some were high ranking individuals willing to give resources to the search, others were lower on the food chain. They covered every base, from war vets to civilians, even a few low class crooks and prostitutes who were willing to see what they could find on the streets.
It seemed my sister was more connected then I realised. And it wasn't just me who was surprised.
"How on earth does she know so many people?" Deeks asks. "She's a forensic scientist."
"Good question," I mutter.
It had been 30 hours since we had last seen her when Eric calls us up to OP's. My heart is in my throat as we hurry up. On the screens was a video. The image it started on made my stomach drop. My sister was curled in a ball in the corner of a cell. She looked tired and scared and her once white shirt was now red with blood.
"Oh my God," Kensi whispers.
"Play the video, Mr. Beale," Hetty says. Eric hesitates but plays the video.
"Please," she cries. "Please I can't... please."
Two men approach the cell and she tries to back into the corner further. She thrashes as they grab her.
