Chapter V: Secret base

*Y/N's POV*

Najenda: "Everyone, meet Y/N Belladonna, our newest member!"

The reactions of others varied a lot, while some welcomed it like Leone, some were wary like Chelsea who was eyeing me and the someone who didn't care at all like Akame.

Chelsea: "Him?"

You: "Yes, me."

Chelsea: "You have a lot of proving to do."

Najenda: "Yes, that is correct, you will need to prove us you're good enough to survive."

You: "I see."

Najenda: "Akame you will take care of Y/N tomorrow, you will show him around and together you will make some food."

Akame: "Alright!"

Najenda: "Now then, I hope you won't disappoint me Y/N."

You: "I'll try not to."

Najenda: "It's late already, everyone should go to sleep we have a busy day tomorrow. Mine, Y/N will sleep nextdoor, you know which room."

Mine: "Yes."

Everyone scattered away, only Mine and Tatsumi left behind.

Tatsumi: "Why aren't you mean to him like you were to me when we met!"

Mine: "Because he didn't laugh at my full name, sure there was confusion but that was expected with my name..."

Tatsumi: "But he's as dumb as I was by your words!"

Mine: "Yes, I know, I know! Nevermind me okay? What Y/N did was stupid we all agreed to that... and besides I'm tired."

Tatsumi left to his room while Mine lead me to mine, with hers being nextdoor.

You: "Is it okay for you though?"

Mine: "About? I have nothing to worry, if you dare to enter my room, you'll be bodyless the next second."

You: "I'm not like that." Anymore...

Mine: "Well that's good, so here's your room, take some rest, you will need it when you'll be with Akame."

You: "Mhm I'll take that advice."

I entered my room while bidding Mine farewell and then plopped down on my bed.

I guess... I could call this my new home but it's too early for asumptions.

*Next day*

It was morning, 5:30 in the morning to be exact and I was already in the kitchen with Akame who was cutting some beetroot while keeping distance.

Akame: "Plus point, early is always better than late."

You: "I always wake up around this time."

Akame: "Enough sleep?"

You: "Yes."

Akame: "Good, we're gonna finish the food and after breakfast I'll give you a rundown on the hideout."

You: "But you don't really want to, you don't trust me enough."

Akame: "You're new... of course I don't... but boss is fond of you so I have no other choice."

She pinned the knife into the board and placed the beetroot into a pot with hot rice and put the lid on it.

Akame: "The beetroot should soften by the time I show you around, let's go."

And she showed me around. The training grounds, the weaponry in case of emergency and everything else she thought was important for me.

Once we returned, I helped Akame transfer the rice into bowls and then placed it on the table where Leone and Lubbock with Seele already were.
