Chapter XVI: Between two sides

*Ruby's POV*

After the grimm invasion and White Fang members were arrested for the cause of it we returned to the academy. Weiss and Yang joined me in defeating the grimm though it took them some time to get to me.

Yang: "Ruby those guys didn't hurt you or anything right?"

Ruby: "Only Torchwick... but he's dead now."

Yang: "Y-You killed him?"

Ruby: "No... Night Raid did."

Weiss: "Tch... them too hm? Seriously they should be behind bars."

Ruby: "Their wanted posters say dead... meaning they will get executed."

Weiss: "Only better, don't need scum like that to live."

I have to be careful about telling her or anyone else about their kindness... that would make them think I'm on their side... meaning I too could be on a wanted poster...

Ruby: "Yeah."

Yang: "How did you get your weapon back? Last time I saw it it was in the hands of that tall guy."

Ruby: "He gave it back to me for defense."

Weiss: "Really? That's so hard to believe."

Ruby: "What else would I be able to do hm? I was alone and without weapon, maybe they felt some pity or something."

Yang: "That seems logical I guess."

Weiss: "Alright let's go back."

Now in our dorm room, Blake nowhere to be seen and those girls that lately talked with her... Kurome and Esdeath vanished...

Yang: "I wonder why Blake didn't join us."

Weiss: "Whatever floats her boat I guess."

Ruby: "She told me she'll stay here and keep watch for unwanted intruders... like her brother."

Yang: "Seriously that girl... she's so obsessed by killing him... I'm beginning to doubt her sanity."

Weiss: "She's not wrong you know... we all saw him in the bank with that auburn haired girl and then she appears on a wanted poster for being part of the Night Raid... so it's clear he's as well... why are you defending him then... by that you'd be on their side."

Yang: "I'm not on their side okay? I'm just searching for the reason for that obsession yet I have to find one."

Weiss: "Hmm alright."

Night Raid... being criminals maybe but... they only fight against people they think are dangerous... which for some reason is Ozpin... now that I think about it, I met him in the police station, he knew I was there thanks to Glynda but... why was he there... why did he want to talk to me... and... he didn't even give me options to refuse... back then I was just so excited I'll go into Beacon but now... there's something wrong with his proposal to me to join... could Night Raid know something we don't? Could they... be the good guys..

Weiss: "Ruby, what are you thinking about? I'm calling out to you and you're not responding!"

Ruby: "Huh?"

Weiss: "What will you eat tonight... I might order something."

Ruby: "I don't know... where are you taking from?"

Weiss: "RFC."

Ruby: "Isn't that a bit too fatty for you?"

Weiss: "Cheat days exist for a reason plus we all deserve some food after today."
