4{Silly Girl}

minor announcement: this story will now be written in 1st person point of view from riley's perspective

This is exactly what I needed. I hope it's what Julie needed too. We hadn't hugged since we found out the news about mom, since then, there just never seemed to be a reason for a hug. But with the song that our mom wrote us right in the middle, it felt like she was wrapping her arms around us, just like she used to.

"I love you Jules," I tell her as I squeeze her into the hug a little tighter

"I love you too, Riles, thank you." She replies softly

"For what?" I laugh pulling away slightly

"Bringing music back to me. I never thought I'd be able to play, let alone sing again. But you pushed me back." Julie explained to me

I smile, "I am so... so proud of you Julie,"

I didn't want to tell her about my promise to mom, to make sure Julie didn't lose her spark. And though she might have for a while, she got it back. I didn't let mom down.

"Alright," I laugh, wiping off the rest of the tears on my cheeks, "I'll see you at school?"

"Sounds good," Julie smiles back at me. Just as she finishes, Flynn enters the studio clearly crying. I give my sister a very questioning look and she gestures to me that she'll handle it, so I walk out.

"Oh hey!" I see the guys as I exit the studio, "what are you guys doing?" I ask seeing Reggie, Luke, and Alex clearly not acting suspicious

"Oh uh nothing! Just chillin..." Alex says in return, giving me a sly look

"Yeah! We totally weren't spying on you guys!" Reggie blatantly says resulting in Luke kicking his side

"You were what?" I yell, "guys that was a private moment! Boundaries!" I say turning around to walk away

"Wait, but I said we weren't spying!" Reggie yells as he stands up, "Riley wait please!"

I close the gate door and take a quick breath to collect myself. I realize I probably shouldn't have gotten that mad, but I can talk to them later and apologize. All I care about right now, is being happy that my Julie is back, and school. God I hate school.

Putting away my English books into my locker and grabbing my keys to head home, I hear a voice behind me, "Hey Riley!"

I turn around to see Cameron Griffin walking up to me. I've known Cameron since kindergarten and have had the biggest crush on him ever since he asked me to be his partner in science in the 3rd grade. We haven't talked since elementary school, but I've always been fascinated by him and wished it was easier to talk.

"Oh! Hey Cameron!" I awkwardly reply

"Hi," he laughs, "so I was wondering if you would want to be partners for the project?"

My eyes go wide, "Project? What project? I mean, yes I would love you!"

He looks at me weird, "I mean to! I would love to be partners! Not you..." another awkward laugh

"Right. The English project Mr. Gild just talked about?"

"Yes! That's right! Mr. Gild... english!" At this point, I just need to stop talking and shove myself into my locker for the rest of my life

"Ok cool! I gotta go but I'll call you later!" Cameron says backing away and smiling

"Yeah! Call!" I turn back to my locker and let my head fall against the door of it.
