"God, does this make you feel good about yourself?" Lily asked while picking at her broccoli. The Evans family was sitting on the table, eating dinner, and as always, the girls were arguing. "Hanging around with Potter and Black and their lot?"
"It does actually," Daisy said with a smug smirk.
"Soon, you'll find out what they're all about," the redhead snarled, flipping her hair over her shoulder pettily. "They think that their pranks are so funny when in reality, they're just bullies. You'll see."
"I'm sorry, didn't you date one of them?" Petunia asked, defending Daisy. Daisy grinned, reaching over the table to high-five her older sister. Their mother swatted their hands away before their palms could touch and Daisy simply laughed.
"Whatever," Lily scoffed, looking back at her broccoli distastefully. "You'll get bored of them soon enough and you'll be sitting alone in your room once again, with nothing to do but toss your stupid baseball around."
"You're just mad cus I hang out with them everyday and you don't," Daisy shrugged, causing Lily to grip her fork tighter. "I bet you get so mad seeing them show up to our house only for them to tell you that they're not here for you-"
"Daisy, that's enough!" her mother shouted. "You do not speak to your sister that way! Go to your room and don't come out until tomorrow morning!"
Petunia sent her sister a sorry look and Daisy only shrugged her shoulders. She left the table and brought her plate to the sink, then skipped up to her room. The brunette lazily laid around on her bed and for a few minutes before she heard the ringing of a doorbell.
Daisy went up to leave her room but then remembered that she was supposed to stay in her room, so she flopped back down on her bed. There was a bit of commotion and she heard the sound of a slamming door. Shortly after, there was a familiar clinking sound against Daisy's window.
The Evans girl went over to her window and smiled when she saw two shadowy figures throwing pebbles at her window. "Ah, Juliet!" James called as Daisy opened her window a crack. "It is I, Romeo! Yeah, that's all I know, I didn't actually read Shakespeare."
"Lily was at the door and she said she would hex me when I wasn't even here for her!" Sirius shouted, still offended. "Can you believe her?"
"I can believe that," Daisy laughed. "Right then, someone catch me!"
Daisy opened her window all the way and looked back at her door for a second, then jumped out. "Shit, I didn't think she would actually jump!" James shouted as he ran forward.
He caught Daisy in his arms and looked at her with a pale, non-amused face. "You almost killed yourself!" he scowled.
"I didn't though," Daisy announced as James set her down. "You know, I am starting to think you're a realist."
"How dare you?" James asked mockingly. "I am a dreamer!"
"Wouldn't be too sure about that." Daisy let James' arm rest on her shoulders as she linked her arms with Sirius. "There is a carnival tonight. Ever been to a muggle carnival?"
"Never been to a carnival in general," Sirius replied. "We don't have those in the wizarding world."
"Carnivals are awesome," Daisy remarked as they walked through the abandoned street of their small neighborhood. "It's right on the boardwalk. There's cotton candy and popcorn and caramel apples and games and rides. But a lot of the rides are two people max."
"I can fix that," Sirius replied as he shrunk down. Daisy looked down and her jaw dropped when Sirius was replaced with a black dog. "RUFF!"
"We can take him on the ferris wheel," the brunette said, "as long as he doesn't pee on my lap." They continued to walk until they saw the the giant carnival and Sirius' doggy jaw dropped. His tongue lolled out as he trotted around, forcing James and Daisy to follow.
