Theo's POV

The smell of freshly cut grass runs through my nose again as we walk away from the pale yellow home. The sound of people giggling as they run around in the street half naked in front of us and I hear Callista giggle beside me.

I turn my head and look down at her and see her covering her mouth with her hand as she watches the people in front of us embarrass themselves. I smirk as I look at her smiling underneath her hand and look back ahead of us.

Walking along the sidewalk, her boots plopping against the cement indicating they fit loosely around her small feet, I reach into my back pocket and pull out my pack of cigarettes. Opening the lid of it and pulling out a cigarette with my lips and the lighter with my fingers, I light the end of it covering the slight breeze from the lighter with my other hand.

Pulling my hands away and putting the lighter away tucking it back into the cigarette box, slipping it back into my back pocket, I bring my hand back up the cigarette and inhale before pulling it out from my lips and exhaling. I reach over in front of Callista and I notice her look up at me from the corner of my eye.

Unwrapping her arms from within her cape, she reaches her hand out from between the fabric and takes the cigarette between her fingers. Bringing the cigarette up to her lips, she inhales deeply closing her eyes as she continues to walk beside me.

Silence around us now, the only thing we're able to hear is the scuffing of the boots on her feet and the sound of my heavy footsteps hitting the concrete. It's not an awkward silence though, it's comforting.

Smoke flowing through the slight breeze in front of us, I look down at her as she nudges my arm and reaches her hand up that's holding the cigarette to my lips. Leaning my head forward slightly, I take it from between her fingertips with my lips and leave it sitting there as I watch her hand snake it's way back into her cape.

Clearing the silence between us I clear my throat, "you know, you're over exaggerating a bit there angel. It's not even that cold out." A half smirk tugging at my lips as I look back down to her.

Placing my fingers on either side of the cigarette I pull it away from my lips and bring it down to my side, her head turns and tilts back to look up at me- the height difference between us obvious as her head reaches just my chest.

Scoffing under her breath, "don't call me angel and you don't get to tell me I'm the one exaggerating when you're fully clothed." She looks at me up and down before she looks back ahead of her.

Shrugging my shoulders and looking at the sidewalk in front of me, I bring the cigarette up to my lips and inhale deeply, "sorry for offering to take you home so you had more time to enjoy yourself.." exhaling as I spoke.

"You had fun, didn't you?" I ask with curiosity and I remember her disappearing with Iron Man for two hours. That thought makes me grip the end up the cigarette tighter between my two fingers, squeezing the sides of it almost flat. The anger coursing through my veins as I continue to look at the sidewalk moving in front of me and my jaw now clenched, veins popping out from the sides of my neck.

She really wondered off with a man dressed up as Iron Man, who even fucking likes him?

"It was alright. I played beer pong with Iron Man for a bit in the garage. I made us lose purpose." Laughing as she continues on with her short story, "he told me if we won he'd get to go down on me. Lucky me, we lost."

Earning a short breathy laugh from me, I reach the cigarette back out to her. All the rage inside me cooled down and became at ease with the whole night. I reach into my front pocket and pull out my phone to check the time. Lifting it up towards me, it lights up and indicates it's 5am.
