(y/n) was back at The Burrow, waiting anxiously for everyone to return from the mission. Mad-Eye had arranged to gather a bunch of people, including her boyfriend, George, to go to Harry's home and escort him safely to The Burrow and avoid the Death Eaters.

"Be careful, Georgie." (y/n) told George, pulling him into a tight hug. They were in Fred and George's old room, talking before they all left for Harry's house.

"I will, love, don't worry. I'll be back with you before you know it." George said softly, hugging her back.

"You don't know that..." the girl said sadly, pulling away to look up at him.

"Hey, it's alright. You don't need to worry - I promise you I'll make it." he cooed, stroking her cheek.

"I love you." (y/n) sniffled, leaning into his touch.

"I love you too, gorgeous." George said, placing a kiss on her forehead, before she pulled him back down and pressed her lips to his, before he leant back and smiled at her.

"Hey, (y/n)..." George muttered, hand hovering over his trouser pocket. But George didn't get to finish what he said, as Fred's voice spoke up.

"Hate to ruin the moment, guys, but we gotta go, Georgie." Fred said from the doorway, causing them to pull away reluctantly.

"Alright, Freddie, I'll be there in a minute." George told his brother, who nodded and left.

A small cry escaped (y/n)'s lips as she wrapped her arms around his torso, burying her face into his chest. He stroked her hair and kissed the top of her head, rubbing her back as he relished in the feeling of her arms around him.

"I gotta go, love." he said as she let him go.

"I know." she said, giving him a watery smile.

"You'll be fine, yeah? I'll be safe with Lupin, so you don't need to worry about me." he said, holding her shoulders and looking into her eyes. She nodded and cupped his cheeks, kissing him once more before they left the room hand-in-hand.

It had been hours. They should've been back by now, but nobody had arrived. (y/n) had sat herself by the window so that she could know the minute anyone arrived back. Ginny saw her best friend looking anxious and approached her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"He'll be alright, (y/n), I promise." she said softly.

"Thanks, Gin. I'm sorry, I—" the (h/c) girl began, but was interrupted by a loud noise outside. Mrs Weasley, Ginny, and (y/n) dashed out of the house to see who it was - it was one of the Harrys and Hagrid.

"Harry? You are the real Harry? What happened? Where are the others?" Mrs Weasley asked frantically.

"Nobody else is back yet?" Harry asked. The three women shook their heads worriedly.
