It was the morning of the Quidditch World Cup, something (y/n) had been looking forward to for weeks. She'd stayed over at the Burrow so she could travel with Arthur and the kids to the event.

"(y/n), wake up!" Ginny yelled, shaking the sleeping girl. (y/n) woke up, startled, clutching her chest with her hand.

"Blimey, Gin! Morning to you, too!" the (h/c) chuckled.

"Get dressed, we're leaving soon!" Hermione instructed, and (y/n) obeyed, throwing on a pair of comfortable leggings and a (f/c) sweater. She slipped on her sneakers and gathered her things, before running out of the bedroom door and down the stairs.

"Good morning, dear!" Mrs Weasley beamed, "There's breakfast on the table, help yourself." she smiled.

(y/n) thanked Mrs Weasley and helped herself to bacon, eggs, toast, and juice, feeling significantly happier once she'd eaten. The girl then went and talked with Hermione and Ginny, discussing how excited they were for the match.
                                                             ~~~~~~~~~~
After breakfast, Arthur had led the kids out of the Burrow and led them into some wooded area, (y/n) jogging up ahead to her two best friends, Fred and George.
"Hey, dad! Where are we going?" Ron called from the back of the group once they'd been walking through the woods for a while.
"Haven't the foggiest! Keep up!" Arthur called back.
"Arthur!" a man's voice yelled happily, "It's about time, son!"
"Morning, Amos! Some of us had a sleepy start." Arthur replied, looking back at Ron and Harry. "This is Amos Diggory, everyone." he introduced, "Works with me at the Ministry."
Just then, a tall, handsome looking boy with dark hair jumped down from the tree above Amos, landing on his feet with a thud, his eyes instantly landing on (y/n).
"And this strapping young man must be Cedric, am I right?" Arthur asked as they shook hands.
"Yes, sir." Cedric nodded, glancing at (y/n) again before leading the way, "This way!"
Fred frowned at this and continued walking, burning his eyes into the back of Cedric's head as they all continued walking. They reached a hill and began climbing, trying to reach the top.
"It's just over there!" Amos called.
"Shall we? We don't want to be late." Arthur said. Ginny ran forward to find an old boot sat on top of the hill.
"Nearly there, now. Get yourself into a good position!" Amos instructed.
"Why are they all standing around that manky old boot?" Harry asked.
"That isn't just any manky old boot, mate." Fred told him.
"It's a portkey!" George added. Everyone took a firm hold of the boot, all the while Cedric was staring at (y/n), quite obviously checking her out. She noticed this and felt the heat rising in her cheeks, giving him a small smile back.
She didn't want to lead Cedric on - although he no doubt attractive, her heart belonged to Fred...even though he didn't know it yet.
"What's a portkey?" Harry asked again.
"After 3! 1...2..."
"Harry!" Harry immediately grabbed hold of the boot just as Amos yells "3!" and the boot began spinning in mid-air, screams erupting from them all.
They eventually landed on the ground, (y/n) groaning in pain. Someone was stood over her, holding their hand out for her to take. She did so, and they hoisted her up, and she was met face-to-face with Cedric.
"Oh, thank you." she smiled, stepping back once she realised how close their faces were.
"Anytime." Cedric grinned, shooting her a wink.
Fred felt the anger bubble up inside of him, and George frowned at his twin's sudden negative demeanour.
"What's got your wand in a knot?" George smirked.
"Pretty Boy Diggory. He's cosied up to (y/n) a bit too much for my liking." Fred growled, glaring at the Hufflepuff boy with (y/n) laughing at his side.
"You've kept your feelings for her a bit too long for my liking." George told his brother, mimicking his choice of words.
"I'll tell her, Georgie."
"Oh, yeah? How soon are we talking, exactly?" George smirked.
"Shut up." Fred mumbled.
"Well, kids, this is it! Welcome to the Quidditch World Cup!" Arthur announced.
There were tents and people everywhere from every country imaginable. It was amazing!
"Parting ways then, old chap!" Amos said to Arthur.
"Yes, see you at the match?"
"See you at the match!" Amos nodded, "Come on, Cedric!"
"Bye." Cedric smiled to (y/n), running a hand through his dark hair. She gave him a small smile and wave in response.
"(y/n), Cedric was totally checking you out." Ginny grinned as the three girls entered the tent.
"Shh! I don't want Fred to hear."
"Honestly, (y/n), just tell Fred you like him! What's the worst that could happen?" Hermione asked.
"Sorry, what?" Fred's voice sounded from behind the girls.
(y/n) froze. She squinted her eyes shut, scrunching up her face in embarrassment, and slowly turned around to face him.
"We'll give you a minute." Ginny said awkwardly, taking Hermione's hand and leading her to the bunk beds.
"You like me?" Fred asked, looking rather shocked.
"Um..." (y/n) mumbled, looking at anything that wasn't Fred - her shoes suddenly became very appealing to her.
"(y/n)—talk to me. Is it true?" he asked, placing a hand on her arm. She nodded.
Suddenly, he broke out into a grin, and scooped her up in his arms, hugging her tightly. He eventually set her down on the ground, and rested his forehead against hers.
"Who knew Pretty Boy Diggory would have made this happen, huh?" he smirked as he looked down at her.
"'Pretty Boy Diggory'? You're not seriously jealous of Cedric?" (y/n) scoffed, leaning back.
"So what if I am? He was getting all close with my girl." Fred told her.
"I'm your girl, am I?" she asked, a grin tugging at the corners of her mouth.
"I mean, only if you wanna be." Fred smirked.
"I think I do wanna be." (y/n) said, leaning up to move her face closer to his.
"Well, I think you've made a very wise choice there, (l/n)." the redhead mused, and closed the gap between their lips, thanking Cedric in his head.
