She woke up the next morning. Steve was laying beside her. She couldn't help but smile. She looked at the watch. A little over 8. She got up, picked up her clothes and went to the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror. She had a new type of glow showing in her face. She touched her lips, thinking back on last night. She had never felt that safe before. He was a complete gentleman. She putted on her clothes when everything turned black. The pain was back.
A brunette began to form in front of her. She had curls and red lipstick. She remembered her face. She had seen the picture so many times. On the museum. In his file. Peggy Carter. She smiled at her.
"I see you had fun with my man." She said looking at her. She didn't know what was going on. Where did she come from? Why did she see her?
"What is this?" [Y/n] asked. She couldn't see the bathroom anymore. She saw a dark room. Steve was standing beside her, looking directly at Peggy. Peggy looked at Steve, ignoring [y/n].
"Peggy?" Steve asked as he was walking closer to her. "What are you doing here?" [Y/n] was confused. She didn't know why she was seeing this or where they were.
"My sweet dear Captain." Peggy walked closer to Steve. It was as [y/n] wasn't even there anymore. "I missed you so much." She felt her heart sink. She looked at Steve and saw the way he was looking at her. It was love. He really loved her.
"If only you had saved us all." Her voice had changed. She sounded angry. Steve didn't look away from Peggy.
"Steve?" [Y/n] asked, trying to get his attention, but it was as he didn't hear her.
"Peggy? What do you mean?"
"You just had to play the hero, didn't you?" [Y/n] looked over at Peggy and saw that her blood was running down from the top of her head. What was this? "You just couldn't help yourself. You had to prove that you were the hero. That you were in charge." A pile of bodies turned up behind her. Steve started to look sad.
"No," [y/n] said. This wasn't real. "NO!" She yelled, and she found herself standing on the bathroom. A knock on the door got her to focus.
"[Y/n]? Are you okay?" Steve asked with a hint of panic in his voice. When she didn't answer he opened the door, seeing her with tears down her face. Her eyes were blank. He took two large steps before he was standing next to her. "What happened?" He asked, looking around the room.
"Steve?" She asked. She didn't know how he got to her. She looked up at him.
"What is going on?" He asked while holding her into his bare chest. He didn't had time to put on a shirt. She looked at him. She didn't wanted to scare him, but he needed to know.
"Ever since Loki." She hesitated. Steve brushed a lock of her hair behind her ear. "I have been these visions." She didn't know what else to call them. He looked at her, confused.
"Visions?" He asked. She nodded.
"I have been seeing things. Myself as a kid. Sia. You." She said with a whisper. "I saw you standing with Peggy in a dark room." He nodded and didn't look confused anymore.
"We had to enter your mind to get Astra out." He said and looked down. She pulled away from him.
"You had to do what?" She took a step away from him. Was that what she was seeing? Him in her mind?
"I didn't want to scare you more. Vision got us in to your mind. We found your subconscious. We convinced you to fight Astra. To get her out. But before we found you, we found another version of you. I believe it was your fears. It showed us our deepest fears. If you saw Peggy in a dark room then you've probably saw my fear." He looked down. She putted her hand on her forehead. This was too much right now.
"I need a minute." She said before leaving the motel room. She sat down on the bench in front of the door. She wasn't mad. He did what he had to do to safe her, but she wanted him to tell her. She didn't know why he didn't tell her sooner.
She looked up at the sun, thinking. She couldn't blame him. She had kept something from him too. She hadn't told him about the blackouts because she didn't want to freak him out. Maybe he was thinking the same thing? How do you tell someone that you have been inside their mind? Watching their deepest fears and memories. She placed her hand on her forehead. Shaking her head. He did what he thought was the right thing.
She stood up and walked inside. She couldn't stay out for too long. She couldn't risk being seen by someone. Steve was standing in the door to the bathroom. He looked guilty. She walked closer to him.
"I guess I can't blame you for not telling me." She pulled him into a hug, closing her arms behind his back.
"Still, I am sorry for not saying anything. I just didn't want you to freak out about it. And after everything you've been through." He looked down at her. She could see in his eyes that he meant what he was saying.
"I get it. I didn't want you to think something was wrong with me too. That's why I didn't tell you about my visions." He nodded.
"Can we make a deal?" He asked, still looking her in the eyes.
"Anything." She answered.
"No more secrets?"
"None. Whatsoever." She smiled and he returned her smile. She stood up on her toes, making herself a little taller. She pulled him closer at kissed him on his lips. "Thank you," she whispered with her lips on his.
"For what?" He moved his head, just a tiny bit, so he could speak.
"For being so understanding. For not asking me question." She buried her head in his chest. He had gotten a shirt on while she was outside. She was secretly wishing for him not to be wearing any.
"[Y/n]," he stroked her hair, "I would trust you with my life." He placed his lips on her head, kissing her hair.
"Me too." It was barely hearable, but she meant it. She would trust him with her life. She had never trusted anyone this much before. She moved away from him and sat down on the bed. He stayed in the door. "I need to find her." She looked up at Steve, wondering how she would do that.
"I know," he said. "Maybe that necklace can tell us something?" He moved away from the door and sat down beside her. She took out the necklace. She turned it around, trying to look for something that could tell them where Sia would be.
"The necklace was by the grave," [y/n] was thinking out loud, "it couldn't have been there for long. Someone would probably have stolen it." She looked up at Steve. He took the necklace.
"I think so. Was there anything else by the grave?" He opened the necklace and looked at the pictures.
"Flowers. They were dead." Steve touched the picture of [y/n]. It was loose. "What?" [Y/n] asked and looked down at the necklace. Steve moved the picture. Behind it was an engraving. M+T. Steve gave the necklace to her and she looked closer.
"Marie and Tom. My mom and dad. This is my mom's necklace." She touched the picture of Sia. It was loose too. She removed it and another engraving became visible. Sia & [y/n]. "But that means Sia must have put the necklace on the grave?" She looked at Steve with hope in her eyes.
"You don't have any other family who could have put it there?" He asked. "I mean, why would Sia put the necklace on your father's grave and not your mother's?" He had a point.
"No. We had no one." She said and looked at the necklace. "Our mother's grave is far away. Maybe she couldn't leave town?" She couldn't lose hope that Sia was close. That she had been close to her this whole time.
"What's the plan then?" Steve asked and putted his hand on her knee.
"We drive back to Philly," she answered with a smile.
"Are you sure? It's a six-hour drive." Steve said while he got up. He knew she was sure.
"It's our only lead." She answered. He nodded.
"Okay then. Pack up in here, I will check us out." He kissed her on the head before he left the room.
