Harry put me down on the couch and he leaned in to tell me something. “You’re a good kisser, Melissa.”

“Thanks, you’re not that bad yourself.” I laughed.

Liam ran over to me and walked me over to his dressing room. Harry pouted on the couch and I winked at him and he smiled.

“So, tell me what happened with your boyfriend. I’m really sorry for you, Melissa.” Liam said hugging me.

We sat down and he held my hand.

“We went on a date the night he died, we went to see this movie that was really big during the summer, and at the end he paid the theater to put our names up on the screen.” I took a deep breath. “We headed home which was on a country road, we got up to an interstate and he stopped the car.” I felt a tear roll down my cheek. “He started telling me that we’ve been dating for almost five years and a drunk driver hit us from behind.” I started crying.

“I’m so sorry, Melissa. That a drunk driver killed him.” He hugged me.

“It gets worse. He was okay from the first drunk driver. I hit the airbag and was still awake but with a couple scratches from the airbag, than there was another drunk driver that hit us in the front so now I’m sandwiched in with my leg pinned, and anther drunk driver hit us on the right so that’s how Chad died and we rolled into a ditch upside down.” Liam hugged me.

“I woke up with the ring on the desk and I wear it every day to never let him think I forgot about him.” I cried.

            “I’m so sorry.” He said.

“He was the star quarterback and was going to be famous one day and he was going to bring me with him all the way. Those drunk drivers ruined our lives and he was mourned for months. I’m still mourning to this day. On his birthday I’m going to his grave to see him and show my respect. Liam he had it all set out and now he’s gone.” I cried on his shoulder.

Liam took a tissue and was wiping my black mascara tears off. “You look like a sad clown now.” Liam laughed.

“Did you know I haven’t laughed like this in a year?” I giggled. “Haven’t been in a car for a year either.”

Liam hugged me and wouldn’t let go. “Why didn’t you say anything?” he asked.

“’Cause of Harry, he made me calm. I felt safe with him, he reminds me of Chad.”

 I whispered.

Liam took out his phone and handed it to me. “Here give me yours and add your number into mine.” We added each other’s numbers and I walked out after fixing my make-up. Harry hugged me from behind and walked me around back stage.

“What did you and Liam talk about?” he asked stroking my hair a little.

“We talked about you actually.” I whispered.

            “Really?”

“Well, you were mentioned a couple of times.”

            “Oh really.”

“Yeah, I told him a feel safe with you.” I bit my lip and he turned me around took my phone and gave me his. I added my number and even took my picture. Harry was smiling when he took his own picture. We switched back our phones and he put a heart next to his name.

“Hey, want me to drive you and Mint home?” he asked.

“Yeah, that would be awesome. Maybe, after dinner the boys and you can check out my apartment. Mint is sleeping over since her apartment is farther away and there are no trains to bring her home.”

“Awesome! Hey, let’s go get dinner.” We all headed out to Harry’s car this time and I sat in the passenger seat next to Harry. We drove to a restaurant and ended up getting swarmed by fans so we had to leave and go back through the McDonald’s drive thru. We all got burgers except me. I stuck to some French fries. We did not eat until we got to my apartment and Niall was throwing a fit the whole time because he was complaining for food.

We arrived at my apartment and we got inside and they all walked around except for Mint and Niall who were eating their food.

            “It’s small.” Louis said.

“I live here alone.” I said.

Harry walked over to me and put his arm protectively around me. “Maybe, you should move out to a bigger place.”

“I don’t have the money and it’s only a block away from my job. I’m a photographer for the newspaper.”

We all sat in the small living room talking. I sat on Harry’s lap and he kept making me take a bite of his hamburger. I laughed and I fed him some of my fries. Louis handed me a fry and gave me a puppy dog face.

“Roll over, Louis, roll over.” I laughed.

He did it! He got on the floor and rolled over. I fed him the fry and he smiled. “Rub my belly!”

“No.” Harry said holding me tight.

“Sorry, Lou, he has full control over me right now. I’m on his lap!” I laughed.

Louis sat back next to me and took my iPhone and added his number and he gave me his phone so I could add mine. I did that with Zayn and Niall so they were happy. They all left but Harry stayed behind.

“I’ll text you tomorrow. Maybe, you can come on down to see us?” Harry said holding my hand.

            “Sure, maybe.” I smiled.

He left the apartment and I went to my room to find Mint passed out on MY bed. I grabbed a blanket and fell asleep on my couch.

Chad, I still love you. I still love you. I thought.
